Starting this February in 2022, Pokémon Unite players and aspirants all around the globe are set to go into a series of monthly Esports tournaments. The tournament series will feature championship points, prize money, and a chance to land a spot in the 2022 Pokémon Unite World Championship, which takes place in London.
The announcement of Pokemon UNITE’s place in the World Championships was announced earlier in January. Finally, more details are revealed.
Pokémon Unite Championship Series 2022: Tournament Format
The regions eligible for participation and the number of qualifying teams from each region for the final World Championship in London are listed below:

Every region hosts a number of tournaments every month. While these tournaments are technically standalone, the points accumulated in them will count towards deciding which teams qualify for the regional finals. Teams will be able to gather points, based on where they finish in that month’s tournament.

Tournament Stages
- Open Qualifier: The open qualifier is open to all eligible and interested players. The format will be of double-elimination bracket type.
- Monthly finals: The monthly finals are open to the top 16 teams from the open qualifier or the top 4 teams from the prior monthly final. The format will also be of a double-elimination bracket.
- Aeos Cup: Another tournament for the top 16 placed teams from that month’s Open Qualifier or the top 4 placed teams from the prior monthly final. The format is however different from the monthly finals and the open qualifier. The tournament takes place over two stages. The first stage is the group stage, consisting of four groups of four. The group stage will be in a single round-robin format. The top 8 teams that will advance to the next stage will be in a double-elimination bracket.
- Regional Final: The final qualifying tournament for 24 teams. Teams participating may include the ones that earned qualification through that month’s Open Qualifier, Championship points or a Top 4 place in the prior monthly final.
- World Championship: The Grand Finale of the tournament consists of the top teams from all eligible regions around the world. Championship rules and schedules have not yet been provided.

Pokémon Unite Championship series 2022: Prize Pool
The championships will have a prize pool of around $1 million. $25,000 will be up for the taking in the Aeos Cup Regional championships have a total prize pool of $50,000 and the World Championship will have a whopping prize pool of $500,000.
How to participate in the Pokémon Unite Championship series 2022
To participate, the players will need to first register an account on the website. Then the details such as player name, trainer ID, personal information, discord ID, etc need to be filled in in order to proceed.

Where to watch
The matches of the selected matches will be telecasted each day, which would last from 4 to 8 hours. The streams of the AEOS Cup Finals were officially hosted on the official Twitch and Youtube. Regional AEOS Cup finals were hosted on the regional Twitch and YouTube channels of Korea, Japan and Brazil (Latin America).
