Pokémon UNITE has been witnessing a great journey so far, since its release in September 2021. To make things a bit further, Pokémon UNITE is going to be a part of the Pokémon World Championships 2022 which will be held in London. Prior to this announcement, Pokémon GO also announced to join the 2022 Championship Series for the first time, featuring millions in prizes and travel awards.
The Producer of Pokémon UNITE, Masaaki Hoshino, said that the game has been spending a successful time since its release. The strategies and playstyles that the game watched were incredible. The game is ready to take a further step in its Esports journey. In a blog post from Pokémon UNITE’s official website, the game shared its plan ahead of 2022 including esports and future in-game updates.
Roadmap for 2022: Everything we know so far
Apart from the game’s participation in the World Championship 2022, Pokémon UNITE will continue development on a new tournament mode, designed to even the playing field for competitors, regardless of their held item grades. Not many details have been shared yet.
Another good news for players who like to taste the game in their country languages is that Pokémon UNITE will soon support additional languages. With future updates, the game will support Bahasa Indonesia, Brazilian Portuguese, Hindi, Russian, Thai, and Turkish. More languages will be added later.
Teams from country/regional qualifiers will join the Pokémon World Championships 2022
Pokémon UNITE is much likely to follow a similar model to select teams globally. It will hold regional qualifiers which will probably be named Championship Series. These Championships series will choose several teams to compete on the global stage, as well as represent their country/region. Qualified teams will battle against each other at the World Championships 2022 in August.
