- Ring of Fire: Prometheus is a 2D voxel-style side-scrolling action title set in the beautiful Continent ofTethys.
- The game offers 2D characters, retro 3D voxel scenes, a sandbox world with puzzles and hidden treasures, a team based combat system, and more.
- The global launch is still unconfirmed, but the devs plan to keep polishing the game and promise a unique, artistic experience.
Dimcroon has finally confirmed an open beta for their side-scrolling action title, Ring of Fire: Prometheus, scheduled for November 28 in China. Fans have been waiting a long time for this, especially after the original CBT was delayed multiple times.
Explore a voxel world full of history and tactical encounters
First of all, for those unaware, Ring of Fire: Prometheus is a 2D voxel-style side-scrolling action title set on the continent of Tethys. You play as an Administrator, exploring a world teeming with cool tactical encounters and solid lore. I mean, you get to witness the rise and fall of history, which sounds fun.

And finally, you’ll soon get to enjoy the blend of detailed 2D characters and retro-inspired 3D voxel scenes. But the fun part is, we can freely roam the three-dimensional sandbox map, solve environmental puzzles, and uncover hidden treasures along the way.
Players can soon experiment with three-character teams and enjoy roguelike action
The combat system also looks intriguing, since you can form a team of three characters and switch between them in real time. I appreciate how each character features impressive artwork and a unique backstory. Still, my only complaint is that I’m somewhat tired of the Chibi-style design, even though they look very adorable.
That said, the long wait is almost over, and you can look forward to a better glimpse at what the game truly offers. While many players are excited, there is some scepticism among some. For instance, I noticed one comment, “the game is like the textbook definition of development hell,” and another saying, “I would suggest you not to keep a high expectation.”
Ring of Fire: Prometheus is launching its open beta this November 28. While there are no details about a global launch yet, you can check out the game’s official TapTap account for more updates!
