- Rust Mobile’s alpha test is set to run for seven days exclusively on Android devices in Canada this February 2025.

- Additionally, all progress and data will be wiped after the test concludes.
Rust Mobile, the long-awaited mobile version of the action survival classic Rust, is gearing up for a 7-day alpha test this February 15th, 2025. If you’re in Canada and own an Android device, you’ll have the chance to experience a sneak peek of this mobile adaptation and experience the gameplay.
Speaking about Rust, it was originally launched in 2013 by Facepunch Studios. The game challenges you to manage hunger, thirst, and health while facing dangers like wild animals and rival players. Its mix of PvP combat, crafting, and base-building helped it turn into a massive hit.
The dates of the Rust Mobile Alpha Test are yet to be announced
The news of Rust Mobile being in development was revealed last year in January under the helm of Level Infinite, following which Facepunch Studios acknowledged Rust Mobile’s development in late 2024. Then it was also shared we would be getting limited tests in early 2025, which has proven to be true.
As mentioned earlier, the alpha test is happening exclusively for Android users in Canada. If you’re interested, you’ll need a high-end device with at least a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, 6 GB of RAM, and 4 GB of free storage. The test will last seven days, and all data will be wiped afterward. Plus, no in-game purchases or monetization features will be included during this phase.
The game will likely stick close to the original’s gameplay, but there’s a good chance they’ll add features to make it more mobile-friendly. But since the requirements look heavy, only high-end devices might be able to play it.
Keep in mind, that the test is under strict confidentiality. You’ll have to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), which means no streaming, screenshots, or sharing gameplay content. You can sign up for the test via the official website. Also, you can stay in the loop by visiting this space and by joining Rust Mobile’s Discord server for updates.
