The casual party game from SEGA, Sonic Rumble, will now launch in Spring 2025, backtracking from the original Winter 2024 schedule. The game had officially opened pre-registration for the much-awaited title on both Android and iOS platforms back in late 2024.
Sonic Rumble brings plenty of game modes for fans to enjoy
Sonic Rumble is the first multiplayer party game in the Sonic series, allowing up to 32 players to battle in fun and chaotic survival matches. The game is jointly developed in collaboration with Rovio, known for the popular Angry Birds series.
You can play solo or form a squad of four to compete against other players. The story takes place in a toy world created by Dr. Eggman, full of tricky obstacle courses and arenas. The game features lively music, including iconic Sonic tunes, to add to the fun.
Announced first as Sonic Toys Party, Sonic Rumble is part of the well-known Sonic the Hedgehog series. SEGA has announced that the game will launch in the Winter of 2024, as revealed in the roadmap. The game previously opened a Closed Beta in the US.
The game offers different modes like Run, where you race to the finish, Survival, where you fight to stay in the game, and Ring Battle, where you collect as many rings as possible. You can choose from classic Sonic characters like Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, and Dr. Eggman. If you are a fan of the franchise, I don’t see any reason to miss this title.
New features will be added before Sonic Rumble’s launch
As confirmed by the makers, new modes are going to arrive with the launch. Quick Rumble lets you jump into a fast, one-round challenge for quick gameplay. Rival Rank introduces a competitive mode where you can test your skills and earn extra rewards.
Plus, the new Crews feature lets you team up with others to take on challenges and win even more prizes. The registration campaign is underway too, which starts with 5,000 Rings at the initial milestone of 200,000 pre-registrations.
Additional milestones promise even more rewards, including a Happy sticker, the Crystal Chao buddy, Garnet Knuckles skin, and the Movie Sonic skin.
If you want to get the rewards and be notified when it gets a launch, pre-register Sonic Rumble on both the Google Play Store and App Store for your mobile devices. From the store listing, the game is expected to be released on May 8, 2025. Keep an eye on the official website for more updates.
