HandyGames Publishers and Developers known as Purple Lamp Studios have proudly announced a new SpongeBob SquarePants mobile game titled SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated which is set to release on mobile devices on January 21st, 2021. The game is up for pre-registration on both iOS and Android now.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated is a new part of the game that was released in the past on several different platforms in early 2021. The game is currently available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC as well as Google Stadia. And over the last couple of years, the game itself is very much a remake of the 2003 Xbox, GameCube, and PS2 release.
The game takes you into the world of our favourite SpongeBob, and his best friend Patrick, alongside Sandy as they team up and embark on a quest to stop the evil Plankton and his evil schemes to take over Bikini Bottom. Plankton isn’t alone this time, as in the game he has a number of kooky looking robots doing his bidding. Throughout your quest to stop plankton, you will stumble upon various characters from the actual SpongeBob SquarePants TV animation such as the likes of The flying Dutchman, Mrs Puff, King Neptune, and of course our favorite loser, Squidward.
In comparison to the 2003 version of the game, Rehydrated have promised to deliver high-end visuals combined with a more subtle gameplay experience to make it all feel very modern. The game will also feature content that was at first cut out of the initial release all those years ago including a boss fight with Robot Squidward.
When will SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom release?
SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom is currently available for pre-order at the App Store and is available for Pre-registration at the Google Playstore. We expect the game to become available worldwide on January 21st. However, the game will not be free, and it will cost $8.99 to play.
