SQUARE ENIX has unveiled its new roguelite RPG, DRAGON QUEST Smash/Grow, scheduled to launch on both Android and iOS in 2026. The latest entry to the iconic DRAGON QUEST series, the game will hold a closed beta test from October 14 to 21, with recruitment now open.
Get ready to perform iconic attacks on hordes of monsters
DRAGON QUEST Smash/Grow is an intuitive roguelite RPG featuring the series’ signature Coup de Grâce attacks. In this game, you battle through waves of monsters to grow stronger and finish them off with these signature attacks, all while completing unique quests.
If you’re unfamiliar, Dragon Quest is known for its classic RPG storytelling, iconic art style, turn-based combat, and character designs by the legendary Akira Toriyama. The recurring monster, Slime, has become the mascot, and the series is also the longest-running JRPG to date.
Coming to gameplay, you can choose from random Blessings skills, which help you to enhance your character and strategy in battle. This further lets you adapt to an ever-changing tactical situation and enjoy a unique DRAGON QUEST experience. I’m actually waiting for this one and excited to try it out.
How to sign up for the DRAGON QUEST Smash/Grow CBT
The good news is that DRAGON QUEST Smash/Grow is now gearing up for its closed-beta test, set for Android and iOS from October 14 to October 21. Spots for this data wipe test are limited to only 30,000 testers, and applications are now open until October 2. It aims to gather feedback for improvements.
You’ll be selected via a lottery system if applications exceed the number of spots available. Here’s how you can apply for the DRAGON QUEST Smash/Grow closed beta test:
- First, visit the official website.
- Next, tap on Closed Beta Test Apply Now.
- You’ll be redirected to the CBT page, and here tap on Closed Beta Test Apply Now again.
- Now, fill out the CBT Application form with proper details, including your email address, operating system, OS version, Region, and more.
- Press Send, and you’re done.
If you’re selected, you’ll receive the confirmation via the email you used to register around October 10. Do note that during the CBT period, the server will be in test operation, and iOS users will join via Apple’s TestFlight app, while others will receive the app that matches the chosen OS.
