- 2025 going to be a big year for Brawl Stars.
- Supercell outlines what the players can expect this year.
Supercell CEO, Ilkka Paananen and Brawl Stars General Manager, Frank Keienburg have shared their insights on what expectations we can have for Brawl Stars in 2025, following its impressive success last year. The CEO also highlighted that 2024 was the first time since 2014 that all of their live games experienced impressive growth. Brawl Stars have previously shared their Esports Roadmap and content Roadmap for 2025.
Supercell’s CEO discusses Brawl Stars and its future with the team’s lead
In a recent Supercell blog post titled, In for the Forever Game, CEO Ilkka Paananen reflected on the successes and challenges of 2024, specifically highlighting two key games. Brawl Stars saw explosive growth across every metric, even surprising him, while Squad Busters, Supercell’s first new launch in over five years, had a good start but didn’t scale up to the expectations of the game team or the company.

Mr. Paananen credited Brawl Star’s success entirely to the team and sat down with Frank Keienburg, the team’s leader, discussing the benefit of a bigger team, the impacts of the game’s conservative growth goals, and more. However, the main highlight of their discussion was what we the fans can expect from the Brawl Stars in 2025.
Frank acknowledged that “Brawl Stars is a game that’s far from perfect, emphasizing that the team has a long list of improvements planned and numerous opportunities to explore. He further stressed their commitment to listening to the community, adding, “and by shipping even better content for them – and of course by learning from our failures.”
We can expect more and better content along with an improvement in the game’s technical quality
He mentioned some key priorities for 2025 regarding Brawl Stars:
- They are aiming to deliver more and better content that aligns with what the community wants.
- The team is working on improving the game’s technical quality.
- They plan to expand their support for previously underserved regions, including live events.
I am pretty excited about 2025’s Brawl Stars content, with the Brawl Stars team being so player-focused, something even the CEO and others at Supercell find inspiring. The CEO noted, “They understand that while these wins are amazing and matter a lot, we are playing the forever game and need to keep continuously exceeding our players’ expectations.“
