Sword Art Online Variant Showdown will temporarily shutdown to fix technical issues

The game will return with all bugs fixed!

Sword Art Online Variant Showdown, the MMORPG title announced by Bandai Namco, will get a 1-year maintenance break as reported by the developers in the wake of players complaining about various bugs and technical faults in the game. The game had launched just last year on both Android and iOS, however starting on September 28, 2023, Sword Art Online Variant Showdown will undergo a 1-year extended shutdown period in the game to fix all the bugs. The game is expected to return in Summer 2024.

Sword Art Online Variant Showdown will eventually return with all bugs fixed

Sword Art Online Variant Showdown is only going for a temporary shutdown and that would be because of the betterment of the gameplay and to provide players with a better gaming experience ahead. Hence players should not fret or worry about the game’s continuation in the future as it is fixed that the game will return in the future.

Players should rejoice in the fact that after 1 year of waiting they would get a better and polished final product from the developer’s end with all bugs and problems of the game fixed. The main reason behind the temporary shutdown has been classified as redeveloping the game’s underlying systems which is the major reason behind the players facing in-game bugs while playing.

The developers believe that instead of working on each individual bug in the game it will be more beneficial for every fan in the game to just fix the root cause of all these bugs in the game, and that is to fix the underlying game systems. The good news for all the fans is that the game will carry on the progression of players made before the maintenance to the version that will be available post-maintenance.

This means that no progress will be lost and players will be able to carry on their adventures in the version that will be made available next year. It will be recommended to not spend any money on the in-game premium currency until the maintenance period ends as the sale of all premium currencies will be suspended on August 31.
