Sword Art Online Variant Showdown is currently globally available on both the App Store and Google Play, according to a recent announcement from Bandai Namco Entertainment. There are rumors that in the brand-new virtual reality game Cross Edge, losing a battle to particular enigmatic opponent results in players losing some of their own memories. Kirito and his companions start playing Cross Edge to look into these rumors, but they soon come under attack. After the Alicization arc, Sword Art Online Variant Showdown contains a wholly original narrative set in the SAO universe.
Sword Art Online Variant Showdown offers exciting features
Some of the key features of the game are as follows:
- Unique SAO Battle System: Use character-specific Sword Skills and switch between offense and defense on the fly to get the upper hand in battle.
- Power up your character: Equip characters with Ability Cards to raise their power! Use cards strategically to get an edge over the competition by boosting characters’ strengths and shoring up their weaknesses.
- Build your Dream Party: Choose 3 characters from SAO and take control of them in battle. Each character has his or her own special techniques and Skills, so be sure to form parties that exploit the opponent’s weaknesses.
Players can expect plenty of in-game content arriving in upcoming updates
Here are some features that will be added in updates after the initial launch. Exact dates will be announced via in-game notices.
- Battle Royal: A 4-player PvP mode. The first battle royal rule in SAO games is that players compete to see how many other players they can defeat within a time limit. Use items that spawn randomly on the battlefield to swiftly turn the tide!
- Character Customization: Customize your characters with accessories and outfits available in multiple color variations.
