End of a long-running life-sim journey!

Story Highlights
  • The Sims Mobile is a beloved life-simulation game inspired by The Sims 4 from Maxis.
  • All Build Mode and CAS items will be fully unlocked for everyone starting January 6, 2026, with no level restrictions.
  • Events will continue until EOS, but no offline version will be available after it.

Electronic Arts has announced the shutdown of its highly popular life-sim title, The Sims Mobile, scheduled for January 20, 2026. First launched in March 2018, the game is now sunsetting after seven years and more than fifty updates, and has released its final update.

The Sims Mobile is ending service on November 4, marking the end of an era

Now, everyone knows The Sims Mobile, the beloved life-sim title, which is based on The Sims 4, which was initially developed by Maxis. But for the select few who don’t know, here, you could create unique Sims, build houses, start families, and control the lives of their Sims.

Unfortunately, The Sims Mobile team announced via X (formerly known as Twitter) that the game would shut down on November 4, stating, “We hope you enjoy the final update and that these final months allow everyone to finish projects, make memories, and celebrate their Sims.

Events will continue to run till the end, but no refunds will be provided

Following the announcement, it has been removed from app stores, and in-app purchases are now disabled. You can still use any remaining SimCash, Simoleons, or Tickets until the EOS date. Thanks to the final update, you can enjoy unlimited energy to help you enjoy your last moments.

Starting January 6, 2026, all Build Mode and Create A Sim items will be unlocked for everyone, and there won’t be any level restrictions, either. Moreover, events will also continue to run to the end, allowing you to earn Simoleons and other items, but there won’t be any refunds.

Now, it is honestly sad to see such a well-loved game reach its end this way, especially one that had such a loyal community. To me, the halt in new content updates and events earlier in 2024 already hinted that something like this was coming. Many fans also expressed frustration over the lack of an offline mode, stating,This is depressing and a waste of the money I spent in the past.
