January 2026 kicked off the year with good numbers for mobile games, and with that, our top-performing games are here. Compared to the end of the year, we saw some noticeable shifts in the global downloads chart with several late-2025 performers slipping out of contention and new names popping up.
Top Mobile Games by Downloads for January 2026

Free Fire climbed back into second place with 25.8 million installs, overtaking Roblox, which settled at third with 22.5 million downloads. The gap between the two narrowed slightly this month, but both maintained strong engagement heading into Q1.

Pizza Ready! stayed consistent in fourth with 17.5 million downloads, followed closely by Subway Surfers at fifth with 15.5 million installs. Vita Mahjong made a notable push to sixth, crossing 15.1 million downloads and reinforcing the strong presence of casual and board-style games in January.

Arrows – Puzzle Escape and School Party Craft continued their steady runs at 13th and 14th, while My Talking Tom 2 returned to the top 15, closing the list with 10.5 million downloads.
