- The new career has no race goals in its scenario.
- The new scenario will feature a Special Guest.
The global server of Umamusume is getting a new Career in the March update. It is the third permanent scenario arriving in Umamusume: Pretty Derby after the Unity Cup Scenario. Let me lay out all the events and details in the upcoming scenario update.
Before that, if you have already begun your journey as a trainer at Tracen Academy in Umamusume: Pretty Derby by reading our Beginner’s Guide, you’re already off to a good start. Now, if you need help mastering your career in the Unity Cup, this guide is for you. Also, don’t forget to check out our Redeem Codes guide to claim the awesome rewards.
What’s coming in the new Career on Umamusume Pretty Derby
Trackblazer: Start of the Climax, also known as Make a New Track (MANT) in the Japanese version of the game. Unlike the URA Finale and Unity Cup, Trackblazer has no race goals in its scenario. You’ll be tasked with collecting Grade Points before reaching deadlines instead. Collecting a certain number of Grade Points is needed to complete this scenario.

This scenario ditches fixed race goals for a roguelike grind of 35-40 races, item shops, and skill-chasing via rivals. As a special guest for this scenario, Real-life jockey-turned-commentator Junko Hosoe, who has previously appeared in the anime, will provide commentary during races and in the paddock! And a new concert has been added. If you complete the career perfectly, you can see it.
What to expect in the new scenario
Unlike the previous two scenarios, Trackblazer gives you the freedom to participate in any race you want without being restricted by a schedule. This also means that you aren’t restricted to getting a certain ranking in a race to continue the career. The end stretch of the career scenario is now totally different.
Twinkle Star Climax is a three-leg final tournament set for the end of the scenario, replacing URA Finale. The goal for this tournament is to gather the most points out of 3 races during the period. Each of the races can occur in one of five variations: short, mile, classic, long, and dirt. Similar to URA Finale, the distance and terrain are decided by the races you participated in throughout the three years of training.

Each of the Twinkle Star Climax races awards a maximum of 10 Victory Points for first place, a maximum of 30 Victory Points for winning all three. Victory Points are indicated by a rainbow-colored star with “Pt” written on it. Since you can race a lot in this career mode, it is easy to gain a lot of fans for your Umamusume, which can be boosted by the Fan Bonus effect from certain Support Cards.
Shops and the events swapped out
Trackblazer lets you collect Shop Coins that you can use to buy items in the Trackblazer Shop. These will boost your performance within the current run of this career mode. Each race will give 100 Shop Coins if you place first. But you will receive fewer points if you place lower than first.
Items bought from the shop vary from improving your stats to giving you a certain condition, energy, support card bonds, and much more.

There will be times when races will feature a Rival, indicated by the VS logo on the race button. Winning against a rival by getting 1st place will give you a random skill hint connected to the distance of the race or the running style you used. Placing higher than the Rival but not getting 1st place will be equal to a draw and will not give you a skill hint.
Secret events of Umamusume don’t trigger in the Trackblazer scenario, unlike the previous two scenarios. For example, Silence Suzuka cannot get the Runaway style in this career, as it is tied to her secret event. So keep that in mind if you are planning to do secret events in this scenario with your Umas.
