The previous reports of Snowprint Studios working on a new strategic Warhammer title for mobile devices have finally come to fruition as Warhammer 40000: Tacticus is officially revealed by the company. The game is set to launch on Android and iOS devices in 2022.
Warhammer 40000: Tacticus brings a brand-new tactical experience
Speculation of a new Warhammer game being in the making has been around for some time now and there were later confirmed reports of the same. However, until now, nothing was known about this new Warhammer game so fans who had been hoping for new information would certainly be pleased. The trailer for Tacticus dropped on YouTube and should give gamers plenty of idea of what the game might look like when it launches.
Game director Wilhelm Osterberg said that the company had many exciting things to show off in Tacticus “over the coming weeks and months”. Osterberg promised that the next few months would go into greater detail about some of the finer aspects of the game such as the story, campaign as well as PVP battles and characters players would be able to collect.
The 2-minute gameplay video showed glimpses of pre-alpha footage with Osterberg himself narrating some of the key features of the game. The video highlighted the importance of special abilities and how much of an impact they would have on gameplay. The game’s story itself would also focus on multiple factions rather than just one to provide unique perspectives for the player to experience.
Osterberg also stressed that the company was very excited about bringing the “tabletop experience” to a handheld device and hoped that mobile gamers would relish the opportunity to play a semi-tactical turn-based strategy game.
When will Warhammer 40000: Tacticus globally release
There is no information about the exact release date of Tacticus that has been confirmed yet, although some expect it to launch in early 2022.
