BIX TEAM has announced an open beta test for their World War I-based FPS title, WELTKRIEG 1: Firestorm, set for Android on April 16, 2026. The game earlier went through a regional beta in select Asian regions during Summer 2025, followed by another playtest in October 2025.
Get ready to experience large-scale WWI-like battles and dominate objectives
So, we’re finally getting a worldwide open beta access for WELTKRIEG 1: Firestorm, and I can’t really hide my excitement. Well, this first-person shooter grabbed my attention the moment it was revealed, and since then, I’ve been waiting to jump into the large-scale battles, fighting alongside my squad.
If you’ve played Battlefield before, the Ultimate Conquest mode will feel very familiar. Like the original Control Point, you have to capture and hold objectives, while you can always dive into Team Deathmatch for that adrenaline-pumped action. I’m sure the 6v6 and 10v10 multiplayer battles won’t be boring.
You can fight using classic weapons and tanks across iconic maps
While the unique factions and classes certainly provide more depth, for me, it’s the WWI setting that really stood out. I mean, there’s something special about using classic firearms and tanks while battling across iconic battlefields, which modern ones can’t replicate. The muddy trenches, craters, and more add more charm.
And like I’ve said before, the game looks very promising and enjoyable thanks to its dynamic matches, game modes, WWI-inspired immersive environments, diverse roles, optimized experience, objective-focused gameplay, stunning visuals, and more. Now, I just have to wait until April 16 to experience it.
WELTKRIEG 1: Firestorm is set to launch an open beta test on Android globally on April 16, 2026. The team will provide download links on April 16 itself. That said, there are no details about an iOS test, so stay tuned for more updates!
