NetEase Games has announced a small-scale technical test, Call for Heroes: Jianghu Awakens, for their highly anticipated open-world Wuxia RPG, Where Winds Meet, on iOS from November 9 until November 11. First revealed in April 2024, the game was released on mobile in China in January.

Now, for those who are new, Where Winds Meet is an open-world action–adventure RPG set in tenth-century China. Here, you step into the shoes of a young sword master, venturing through a land to uncover the mysteries of your own identity.
Personally, I think this game has the potential to challenge giants like Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves. I mean, the idea of exploring such a vast, visually stunning world with over 20 unique regions on a handheld device feels unreal. Like 10 years back, who would’ve thought we would be playing titles like this?

If you’re selected, you’ll be notified via Discord within 1 week, but note that slots are limited and you’ll get it based on merit. I did apply for it from my brother’s phone, and I hope I get in. That said, this is just a build in development, so you might face bugs, incomplete content, and imbalances.
