League of Legends: Wild Rift took to their official Twitter account to announce the launch of the SEA Pentaboom Showdown for the Southeast Asia region. The tournament would consist of 8 teams formed by 40 celebrities and content creators from the South East Asia region. The team will contest for prize money of US$66,500, sponsored prizes, and the title of Champion.

The event will be held on 12-13th December 2020. Wild Rift developers also launched a trailer to declare the launch of the event.
The eight teams to participate in the super hyped tournament are:-
- Team Inspire – Jess No Limit, Dyland Pros, Gogogoy, VY Gaming, Cindy Gulla
- Team Keeper – Sdach Game, Chea Gaming, Henaa Gaming, T26.Haha, Prom
- Team Martial – I C E I C E, Ace Gaming, Original Matt, ugu, Nx Live
- Team Mystic – XK Penjahat, Fredo Sameon, Soloz, Harris Annuar, Ismail Izzani
- Team Phoenix – ASHLEY GOSIENGFIAO, ALODIA GOSIENGFIAO, DEXIE DIAZ, JAMES REID, MEGAN YOUNG
- Team Starcall – SEZAIRI, DANIAL RON, NATHAN HARTONO, RYAN TAN, VINCENT SIN
- Team Trueshot – FROZENKISS, DX CHANNEL, PLAYER 4, MAY PITCHANART, JAI RAW
- Team Volley – ĐẤNG MY, MILONA, BÉ CHANH, MISTHY, MSUONG
Riot Games Southeast Asia is also donating US$60,000 to four organizations to help out the underprivileged children of the region by providing better education and living conditions. The charity would be a celebration for the launch of Wild Rift in the South East Asia region.
Additionally, to cater to the wider audience of Southeast Asia, the Wild Rift SEA Pentaboom Showdown will feature eight fully localized live streams in English, Thai, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Burmese, Khmer, Bahasa Malaysia, and Bahasa Indonesia, with local casters to boot.
