Wuthering Waves Version 2.3, titled ‘Fiery Arpeggio of Summer Reunion’, will celebrate its 1st Anniversary and feature new Resonators, Weapons, events, and more. In this article, I’ll break down all the key highlights and everything you can look forward to when the WuWa Version 2.3 update goes live on April 29, 2025.
Before we dive in, take a moment to explore everything introduced in Version 2.2, and get to know the recently released characters, Brant and Phoebe, in the previous update.
Wuthering Waves Version 2.3 Update brings new Banners
As usual, the version 2.3 update will roll out in two banner phases, including both new and returning Resonators. You can pull some powerful Resonators that will improve your overall gameplay experience.
Phase I Banners
- 5-Star Resonator: Zani (new)
- 4-Star Resonators: Taoqi, Yuanwu, Lumi
Phase II Banners
- 5-Star Resonator: Ciaccona (new)
- 4-Star Resonators: Danjin, Yangyang, Mortefi
Zani and Ciaccona are the two new 5-Star Resonators arriving in Wuthering Waves with the Version 2.3 update, each featured in two banner phases. Zani is a Spectro Resonator who fights with her signature gauntlets, while Ciaccona is an Aero Resonator wielding pistols.
Anniversary Convene: Resonators
Anniversary Convene Phase I
- 5-Star Resonators: Jiyan, Yinlin, Zhezhi, Xiangli Yao, Pheobe.
- 5-Star Weapons: Verdant Summit, Stringmaster, Rime-Draped Sprouts, Verity’s Handle, Luminous Hymn.
Anniversary Convene Phase II
- 5-Star Resonators: Jinshi, Changli, Carlotta, Roccia, Brant
- 5-Star Weapons: Ages of Harvest, Blazing Brilliance, The Last Dance, Tragicomedy, Unflickering Valor.
In the upcoming Anniversary Resonator Convene, you’ll have the option to select a 5-Star Resonator or Weapon as your main Convene target, and can change it anytime. During this, the Waveband for the selectable 5-Star Resonators will be available in the Afterglow Coral Store, and you can purchase each one twice. Do note that they will be removed after the Convene ends.
New Weapons and Echoes coming in WuWa Version 2.3 Update
The Version 2.3 update of WuWa will also introduce new weapons for the new featured characters in the upcoming banners.
New 5-Star Weapons
- Blazing Justice (Gauntlet): Signature weapon for Zani.
- Woodland Aria (Pistol): Signature weapon for Ciaccona.
New Phantom Echoes
Echoes are needed to enhance your Resonators’ abilities, and Phantom Echoes are rare variations of them in Wuthering Waves.
- Crownless.
- Nightmare Crownless.
- Nimbus Wrath.
- Chest Mimic.
New Special Events and Challenges arriving with WuWa Version 2.3 Update
With the upcoming update, a new Permanent event will be available, which is called Dreaming Deep, along with a new story event called Your Summer Will Never Wither. Additionally, you will also get to experience the new companion story, A Blaze in the Dark.
To celebrate its 1st Anniversary, the game is set to introduce a variety of events, offering you new challenges and rewards.
- Gifts of Grand Reunion – A seven-day login event.
- Gifts of Grand Celebration – An Anniversary limited-time login event.
- Gifts of Melodic Verses – A limited-time login event.
- Cube, Cubic n Cubie – An Anniversary combat event.
- Memory Travelogue – An Anniversary photo collection event.
- Cubie Derby – An Anniversary spectator event.
- Cubie Derby: Warmup – An Anniversary leisure event.
- It’s Carnevale Time! – An Anniversary returnee invitation event.
- Gilded Nightmarket – An Anniversary Point Exchange event.
- Beyond the Waves: Rinascita – A featured exploration event.

Optimizations coming with the Wuthering Waves Version 2.3 update
Wuthering Waves Version 2.3 is also bringing several optimizations to improve your gameplay experience. Here’s a look at the key improvements:
- Echo Aspect: It is a new feature that allows you to change the appearance of your Resonator’s Glide or Flight apparatus.
- Data Modification: You can use a modifier to adjust the first Mainstat of an unenhanced 5-Star Echo to a specific stat. These modifiers can be obtained via Special Events, Pioneer Podcast, and Item Exchange.
- Ray Tracing and 120 FPS: This update expands the support for Ray Tracing to a wider variety of graphics cards, including some AMD and Intel models. Plus, the 120 FPS option will now be available to a broader range of graphics cards.
- No Boss Fight CD: With this update, you will be able to restart the boss fight immediately after completing a Boss Challenge or Nightmare Challenge.
- Glossary: You will be able to click on a hyperlinked term to bring up its definition as they will be added to complicated or important in-game terminology.
- Game Resource Download Optimization: They are optimizing PC game resources, and your launcher will support incremental updates. Plus, mobile gamers will be able to pre-download after this update goes live.
Wuthering Waves x Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Collaboration
At the end of the version 2.3 live stream, Kuro Games revealed the upcoming Wuthering Waves x Cyberpunk: Edgerunners collaboration, which is set to launch in 2026. There is currently not enough information regarding this exciting crossover.
Extra Special Event as a token of appreciation and an apology
Following the Version 2.3 preview special broadcast, the devs shared an apology on X (formerly known as Twitter) to all the Rovers, as fans weren’t satisfied with the Anniversary content and its presentation. While the team aimed to create a chill and fun anniversary experience, they released it didn’t work the way fans wanted.
They have promised to do better moving forward, and as a token of appreciation, and also an apology, they will launch a special login event this week, offering you 10 Radiant Tide, 10 Forging Tide, and 10 Lustrous Tide.
