Honor of Kings has revealed that the KWC at the 2026 Esports World Cup will kick off on July 30, 2026, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. But this is not just a regular KWC, as Arena of Valor will also share the stage in a unique cross-title format with a huge prize pool. So without further ado, let’s get into the details!
Honor of Kings brings a cross-title format with Arena of Valor and expands to more regions
So, KWC at EWC26 brings together the best teams from both Honor of Kings and Arena of Valor, creating a combined competitive environment. Moreover, to make things more intriguing for everyone, AoV heroes will also be introduced into the tournament patch.
On top of that, regions like India, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau are all part of the mix this time, and I’m loving this expanded representation. A total of 20 top teams are going to compete for a massive prize pool of $3 million after qualifying from multiple regional leagues.

KWC at EWC 2026 follows a three-stage tournament format
Now, coming to the tournament format, it will run from July 30 to August 8 and follow a three-stage format, with each stage gradually raising the stakes and intensity. And here’s the tournament structure:
- Play-ins
- 8 teams split into 2 groups.
- Best of 3 matches with double elimination.
- The top 2 teams from each group move forward.
- Group Stage
- 16 teams are divided into 4 groups.
- Best of 3 with double elimination.
- The top 2 from each group advance.
- Playoffs
- 8 teams battle in a single elimination.
- Best of 7 matches.
- The final stages include special formats like Ultimate Battle.
Personally, as someone who plays MOBAs like Honor of Kings and even its competitors a lot, this kind of crossover makes me even more excited for the future of the MOBA esports scene. And I also can’t wait to see how it turns out.
