- Season 1 launched on April 3, 2025, with all 8 episodes available for streaming exclusively on Netflix.
- The Devil May Cry series features a younger Dante navigating a new timeline.
- The show kicks off a larger "Bootleg Multiverse" from creator Adi Shankar.
Devil May Cry has officially landed on Netflix, and it’s a big moment for fans of the classic video game franchise. For those who’ve recently played Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat on mobile, this show feels like a great companion piece.
With a solid voice cast and great early reviews, the Devil May Cry franchise gets a boost with this anime
The anime dropped on April 3, 2025, with all eight episodes available to stream on Netflix. It was created by Adi Shankar, the same guy behind the Castlevania series, and animated by South Korea-based Studio Mir, known for Lookism and The Legend of Korra.

This new animated series brings Dante back into the spotlight as he tries to stop a powerful demon called the White Rabbit, while also dealing with a determined soldier named Mary Ann Arkham. What makes this series different is that it sets up its timeline instead of sticking to the exact plot of the games.
The voice cast is stacked, too. Johnny Yong Bosch voices Dante, and he is familiar with the franchise as he previously voiced Nero in Devil May Cry 4 alongside the motion capture. Scout Taylor-Compton plays Mary Ann Arkham, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fame Hoon Lee voices the White Rabbit.
While we have seen a lot of anime debuting as games, for example, NARUTO SHIPPUDEN, Haikyu!! FLY HIGH, BLUE LOCK PWC, and One Punch Man: World, to name a few, have been a lesser occurrence where you see games going on to be an anime.
According to the creator, this is part of a Bootleg Multiverse featuring his other animated franchises. As I write this, the reviews are looking good, and honestly, as someone who’s followed DMC pretty closely over the years, this one feels worth checking out.
