7sea Esports is crowned as the champion of Battlegrounds Mobile India Showdown (BMSD) 2022

Battlegrounds Mobile India Showdown 2022 or the BMSD concluded yesterday with team 7Sea Esports emerging as the champions of the tournament. This tournament was the first official LAN or offline esports event held for BGMI since its release in India early last year. The event was held in Delhi with 24 teams participating in the preliminary stages and 16 teams in the Grand Finals, which lasted one day.

7Sea Esports showed consistency throughout the tournament

The tournament was played throughout 6 matches, giving us an end-to-end series of action owing to the high stakes of the tournament as compared to the number of matches played. Like many fans criticized, the format, that is, the schedule was short and the number of matches played was too few to give us a decisive winner.

It was based on the performance of a single day instead of overall consistency throughout a standard amount of matches in a tournament. Quite normally, a team might not be in form for a day but they can make it up with consistency when a tournament is conducted for a longer time.

Therefore, the trophy of BMSD also came down to a lot of luck. As to which team was at their best on the given day. 7Sea Esports showed mettle and good rhythm throughout the 6 matches played. This earned them the championship, with fan favorites like SouL, XO, and GodLike failing to meet their expectations and finishing outside the winning points.

The BMSD 2022 champions bagged prize money of 5,00,000 INR

The winners 7Sea Esports bagged a total of 5,00,000 INR. While 2nd and 3rd placed Orangutan and Enigma Gaming took home 2,50,000 INR and 1,00,000 INR respectively. 7Sea Esports’ Spraygod clinched the coveted title of MVP and 50,000 INR. Fierce and Driger, both from Team XO, got awarded for the highest grenade finishes and the longest finish distance respectively. Both earned 50,000 INR as well.

As it was rumored before the start of the tournament, the winner also got a slot on the international stage of PUBG Mobile, the PMWI East 2022. 7Sea Esports is the second team to represent India with the first team none other than fan favorites, Team SouL. Overall, the BMSD achieved its purpose of offering tight and action-packed gameplay for the audience. This is surely the first of many more such events to come in the future.
