Here are the top 5 moments of BMPS 2024 Grand Finals!

The Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series (BMPS) 2024 Grand Finals was a thrilling spectacle that kept gaming enthusiasts across the nation on the edge of their seats. As top teams from all over India battled for the prestigious title, the tournament delivered unforgettable moments, intense gameplay, and unexpected upsets. In the end, Team X-Spark emerged victorious, securing their position as the best team in India for the second time. This article will discuss the top 5 moments during the BMPS 2024 Grand Finals that made it an event to remember.

BMPS 2024 Grand Finals: Top 5 Highlights

1. Two back-to-back official titles for team X-Spark

For the first time in Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) esports history, a team has won two consecutive official championships in a single year. Team X-Spark led by their IGL Shadow7 did this mammoth task after three days of nerve-wracking, adrenaline-rushing BGMI action.

Previously, they have won the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2024 in Hyderabad. And now, they got their second BGMI title in Kochi. After the end of the first day of the final, they were sitting at the 11th position on the point table. But on the second and third day, they made a comeback and eventually won the tournament.

2. Record concurrent watching

This year’s Grand Finals shattered all previous viewership records. For the first time, the BGMI live stream on YouTube reached nearly 500,000 concurrent viewers, more than doubling their previous record of 225,000.

The live audience turnout on the second and third days was also remarkable, with many fans attending to meet their favorite content creators, interact with esports players, and cheer for their teams. It seems that the hype and love for BGMI esports are constantly rising each day.

3. Team GodLike made their comeback

One of the most popular esports organizations in India, team Hero Xtreme GodLike has finally made a comeback in the BGMI esports scene. They made it to the LAN Grand Finals of an official title after three long years. The last time they played a BGMI official final was in 2021.

They also played pretty well in the Grand Finals of BMPS 2024 as they got the second runner-up title. They also received a prize money of INR 20,00,000. Their in-game leader (IGL) PUNK also won the Best IGL of the Tournament award. The fans will always remember the 1vs5 clutch by GodLSIMP, where he single-handedly got the chicken dinner for his team.

4. Underdogs demonstrated resilience while the top teams struggled

During the Grand Finals of the BMPS 2024, many underdog players showed brilliant gameplay as quite familiar names in the community failed to deliver on the big stage. Team Numen x Forever’s Mafia and Omega played a crucial role in their team’s podium finish. Underdog teams like Limra, Phoenix, and Bliss also showed glimpses of excellence on the battlefields of BGMI.

On the other hand, known teams like 8BIT, Medal Esports, and Hyderabad Hydras failed to deliver as per their expectations and choked in the game massively on the LAN event.

5. Effort from KRAFTON and organisers

In the Grand Finals of the Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series 2024, KRAFTON put a lot of effort into bringing spectators to the LAN location. During the first day, the audience was significantly low so they started a free shuttle service from Aluva Metro Station in Kochi to the Adlux International Convention Center, where the Grand Finals of BMPS is taking place. This shows that they are pretty serious about the spectators and want to give them a pleasant experience.

Final Thoughts

BMPS 2024 was a major success for both the publishers and fans, setting new records for online viewership on YouTube. However, there’s still room for improvement. The entry area at the LAN event was disorganized and chaotic, and transportation posed significant challenges.

Additionally, several matches during the Grand Finals had to be re-hosted due to server issues, which is unexpected for a tournament of this scale. We hope that Krafton will address these concerns in the future, ensuring even better and bigger official events ahead.
