Over 12,000 people attended the gaming spectacle in Bangalore

In a stunning demonstration of exceptional gaming and intense competition, the 2023 Skyesports Championship 5.0 Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) tournament’s grand finale, hosted by Skyesports, the prominent esports tournament organizer in India, culminated in a thrilling victory for Blind Esports, who emerged as the champions.

The event, titled “Powered By AMD” and featuring Zebronics as its Gaming Partner, took place at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium in Bangalore from November 3 to 5. It attracted an audience of over 12,000 individuals who witnessed the country’s top BGMI squads competing for a total prize pool of $150143. Loco, a leading global gaming and esports streaming platform, served as the event’s Broadcast Partner, exclusively live-streaming the finals in English, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. The smartphone partner for the event was the Tecno POVA 5 Series.

In the competition, Blind Esports secured the first position with a total of 170 points, achieved through four Winner-Winner Chicken Dinners (WWCD). Revenant Esports claimed the second spot with 160 points, while OR Esports took the third position with 150 points.

In the fourth position, Team Soul, totaling 137 points, was succeeded by Gods Reign, who secured the fifth spot with 133 points, thus completing the top-five lineup. The title of Most Valuable Player (MVP) was bestowed upon Ritesh “Fierce” Nawandar in recognition of his exceptional performance during the three-day finals.

High-Profile Presence at BGMI Skyesports Championship 5.0 Finale

In the presence of numerous gaming enthusiasts, the high-profile event saw the attendance of N. A. Haris, an Honorable Member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. He expressed his endorsement for the advancement of Indian Esports, remarking, “Seeing so much crowd is really very impressive and I can see that so many people are interested. I think Bangalore should have better infrastructure for Esports and we should make it a happening place. This is the step ahead and as the representative of people I am with you.

Marking its fifth year, the Skyesports Championship holds the distinction of being India’s longest-standing homegrown Esports initiative. The tournament boasted an impressive total prize pool of $2,54,687, distributed across three Esports titles, including BGMI.
