Keeping the health and well being of players in mind, Garena has taken down the COD Mobile Garena Invitational Tournament with immediate effect.

Garena’s announcement

The COD Mobile Garena Invitational Tournament was cancelled by Garena and was made official through a post on their Facebook official page. As they quoted ,

“Hi Soldiers,

In light of the evolving COVID-19 situation across the region, we have decided to cancel the Call of Duty® Mobile – Garena Invitational.

We are making this difficult decision after we explored alternative ways for us to hold the tournament online. However, with a number of our participating regions having implemented important measures to safeguard their communities by limiting unnecessary travel, it is not feasible for players to gather with their teammates and match officials locally.

Nothing is more important than the health and well-being of our players, fans, partners, and staff – and of the communities where we operate across the region.

Thanks for all your understanding and support. Stay frosty , Soldiers”

The Garena Invitational Tournament has been called off for this year due to coronavirus. But it will not be affecting the ESL Championship. The ESL Championship grand finals will be concluded online on 11 April 2020. This decision comes stays as it was before because of Singapore and the Philippines remaining unaffected.
