The journey to the biggest stage in competitive eFootball has officially kicked off as KONAMI launches the FIFAe World Cup 2026 Challenger Series. This will serve as the gateway to the FIFAe World Cup 2026, featuring the eFootball franchise.
FIFAe World Cup 2026 Challenger Series: Format and Schedule
Running from February 12 to February 22, 2026, the Challenger Series serves as an official in-game qualification pathway. The tournament now expands to over 110 participating FIFA Member Associations, with countries such as Croatia, Kenya, and Tunisia joining.
So, regarding the format, you will compete directly inside eFootball across three stages, starting with AI challenges, progressing through PvP matchups, and concluding with a ranking event that determines final standings.
One of the major changes comes in the Mobile division, which now adopts a 2v2 format, aligning with the Console structure, which is a welcome change for those who love Co-op games. Note that all events will be conducted via Dream Team mode.
The schedule is as follows:
| Stage | Event | Dates | Details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Round 1 | AI Challenges | 12 to 19 February | Players must complete VS AI Challenge Events to advance to Round 2. |
| Round 2 | PvP Challenge Event | 12 to 19 February | Players must complete PvP Challenge Events to qualify for the Ranking Event in Round 3. |
| Round 3 | PvP Ranking Event | 20 to 23 February | Players compete in PvP matches to secure the top ranking position. |
Those ranked higher will position themselves for potential nomination by their respective FIFA Member Associations. Final rankings will be published on FIFA.GG shortly after the event concludes.
FIFAe World Cup 2026 Challenger Series: Qualification and Criteria
However, in-game performance alone is not enough. You must register on FIFA.GG, claim your ranking profile, link your Konami User ID, and select a participating national team. Also note that you must hold a valid passport of that nation and be at least 16 years old at the time of representation.
Once the Challenger Series concludes, national football federations will determine their representatives, followed by international qualification tournaments that decide which countries advance to the FIFAe World Cup 2026, scheduled for Autumn 2026.
