After years of rumors, speculation, and multiple recent reports suggesting an India launch was around the corner, Honor of Kings, the global mobile MOBA from Tencent Games’ TiMi Studio Group and Level Infinite, has now officially opened its doors for Indian players. The launch comes after months of growing signals. Earlier this year, Honor of Kings India social media pages quietly went live, and sources close to GamingonPhone had hinted that the game was preparing for an India rollout, which was officially confirmed a few days after.
Originally released in China as King’s Glory, the game has been a massive success for years. The global version launched on June 20, 2024, and the numbers were impressive right from the start. Within its first month alone, the game reportedly crossed 50 million downloads and generated over $100 million in revenue.
Honor of Kings follows the classic 5v5 three-lane MOBA setup, where two teams push lanes, secure jungle objectives, and try to break the enemy base. Matches are fairly quick too, usually around 15 minutes, so it fits well for mobile sessions.
You pick from a large roster of heroes, many inspired by mythology and legends, and each one brings a different playstyle. The game also keeps things pretty straightforward in terms of competition. There’s no stamina system or hero grinding, so matches mostly come down to teamwork, map awareness, and how well you use your hero.
So, what’s coming with the India edition? I know most of you have this question. Well, good news. The makers have brought in a dedicated server infrastructure, together with a locally deployed Content Delivery Network (CDN) and Battle Suit Accelerator, as confirmed by Dean Huang, Game Producer of Honor of Kings, in his interview with GamingonPhone.
