Free Fire India regularly brings several tournaments for India and Nepal. One of the many tournaments is the Free Fire City Open 2021 where the prize pool is as big as INR 60 Lakhs (~ $80k). In this article, we will talk about the minimum requirements, benefits, and various other queries regarding the newly announced FFC 2021.
What is FFC
Free Fire City Open is a tournament for the metropolitan cities of India and Nepal. There will be in total 12 teams who will be fighting for the crown in this tournament. Out of these 12 teams, 10 teams will come from 8 different cities (states) and 2 teams will be added as a wildcard entry. FFC’s target is to bring out new teams who have passion and knowledge about the game who play with their tactics, mind games etc.
Everyone from India, meeting the minimum requirements can participate in the tournament. Registered players from the rest of India will become part of the Wildcraft Finals. The top 12 teams from the rest of India will be selected for the Wildcraft Finals. From here, the top 2 teams will qualify for the National Finals.
FFC 2021 Schedule
FFC registrations will take place from 26th April- 30th April 2021.
Open Qualifiers: April 30, 2021 16:00 IST to 21:00 IST
All the registered teams participate in the Open Qualifiers on April 30, 2021, between 04:00 PM IST to 09:00 PM IST. The teams will be provided with 8 tickets that let them play 1 match using 1 ticket in the Open Qualifiers. So. teams can play a maximum of 8 matches. Out of teams, the best 5 will be considered for calculating the score.
Regional Finals: June 15 to July 19, 2021
The top 12 teams from all 8 cities would participate in the Regional Finals. From here, the top team from each region qualifies for National Finals. Teams secured 2nd to 4th place, proceed to Regional Play-Ins.
Regional Play-Ins: July 16 to 23, 2021
The teams to secure 2nd to 4th place in Regional Finals will get another chance to qualify for the National Finals. A total of 24 teams (3 teams from all 8 cities) will participate in the Regional Play-Ins, and out of them, the top 2 teams will qualify for the National Finals.
Wildcard Finals: July 30, 2021
The top 12 teams from the cities which are not part of the 8 cities mentioned above will participate in the Wildcard Finals. Out of these, the top 2 teams will qualify for the National Finals.
National Finals: August 15, 2021
National Finals will take place on Independence Day of India, i.e., August 15, 2021. A total of 12 teams will participate in the National Finals of the Free Fire City Open tournament.
Participating cities
A total of 8 cities will participate in the Free Fire City Open 2021 from different states in India. These include:
- Delhi (New Delhi)
- Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh)
- Kolkata (West Bengal)
- Ahmedabad (Gujarat)
- Mumbai (Maharashtra)
- Hyderabad (Telangana)
- Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh)
- Chennai (Tamil Nadu)
Requirements to participate in FFC
There are 3 major requirements for participation in the tournament.
- In-game level: The minimum level required for entering the lobby of FFC is 40.
- In-game rank: The minimum rank required for making a squad in FFC is Diamond 1 rank.
- Minimum age: The minimum age for the player to register is 12. To make sure of parental concern towards Free Fire India, it will be verified by contacting IGL (In-game Leader) and checking any age-verification certificates, e.g. Aadhar Card, School Report Card, etc.
How and where to sign up
Players need to contact the IGL (in-game leader) and ask him to use the in-game interface. This will be available from 26th April (00:00) to 30th April( 21:00). The team leader has to send an age verification certificate via any available form of contact and in the form of a PDF.
- Step 1: Log in to the game and click on FFC Cup (Red colour Cup icon) on the right side of the lobby.
- Step 2: Select’ Free Fire City Open’.
- Step 3: Click on ‘Squad’ at the bottom of the screen.
- Step 4: Choose ‘Create’ or ‘Join’: ‘Create’ for a new team and ‘Join’ to become a member of the already created team.
- Step 5: Fill in the required details.
- Step 6: Click on ‘Confirm’.
- Step 7: Click on ‘Recruit’ at the right bottom to invite friends to join your team.
- Step 8: Ask your friends to accept the in-game invitation and join your team.
Tournament Rewards
The total prize pool of Free Fire City Open 2021 is INR 60 Lakhs ( ~ $80k). However, the distribution of the place is still unknown.
