The Free Fire India Championship Spring 2022 (FFIC 2022 Spring) has been announced as the first major Free Fire esports tournament of the year for Indian players and fans in the country. Registrations for this flagship esports event in India will be open to all players in India and Nepal starting today. Teams will get to sign up between 7th February 2022 to 11th February 2022 through the in-game Free Fire Cup (FFC) mode.

The top FFC teams will be joined by seeded teams from the recent Free Fire Pro League (FFPL) 2021 Winter, as they compete for the lion’s share of the $134k (₹1 crore) prize pool. The top-performing teams at FFIC 2022 Spring will represent the region at Free Fire World Series 2022 Sentosa. The FFWS 2022 is one of the most iconic global offline tournaments. Apart from this, players will also get to directly qualify for the next Free Fire Pro League 2022 Summer.

How to register for Free Fire India Championship Spring 2022 (FFIC Spring 2021)

Format

The road to the Free Fire India Championship Spring 2022 will not be easy; teams will have to navigate through a total of five arduous stages in order to win the tournament’s ultimate prize. All of the matches will be played in the Battle Royale Squad mode. The FFIC 2022 will follow the same format as its previous edition Free Fire India Championship 2021 with a few tweaks.

The tournament will begin with two qualifier stages where teams battle it out to earn a spot in the FFIC 2022 Spring League Stage. Participants will first compete in the Open Qualifiers via the Free Fire Cup (FFC) mode, which will see the top 42 teams advancing to the Closed Qualifiers.

Open Qualifiers

The starting of the tournament will begin from the open in-game qualifiers. Just like the previous editions, the open qualifiers will be accessible through the game’s (FFC) Free Fire Cup mode. Top performed 48 teams will move forward in the tournament.

Closed Qualifiers

The tournament will then proceed through the closed qualifier mode where 6 teams (7th- 12th) ranked 7th to 12th in the recent Free Fire Pro League (FFPL) 2021 Winter tournament will be featured and battle along with the teams who made it in the online qualifiers.

Taking place on 16th to 20th February, the Closed Qualifiers will further whittle the teams down to the top 12. These 12 teams, together with the top 6 seeded teams from FFPL 2021 Winter will embark on the FFIC 2022 Spring League Stage.

League Stage

The League Stage will be the first battle arena. Taking place from 11th March to 27 March, the League Stage will see the top 18 teams divided into 3 groups of 6 teams. Again, the Top 6 teams from the 2021 Championship will be ready to face the top 12 teams from the closed qualifiers.

Moreover, each group will play against each other round-robin style over the course of 9 league days, spanning a period of 3 weeks.

Playins

The top 2 teams from each of the 3 groups will proceed directly to the Grand Finals. Thereafter, the remaining 12 teams will take part in the Play-Ins on 3rd April, where they will battle it out for the remaining 6 Grand Final spots. This will be the last chance for every team to prove themselves and stay alive in the Championship race. The top 6 teams from the playins will proceed to the finals.

Championship Finals

The tournament will be heading towards an end as we will be having our winner.

Prize Pool

The Free Fire India Championship Spring 2021 Grand Finals will see these 12 teams battle for a share of the $134k (₹1 crore) prize pool. But the prize money will not be the only reward at stake.

The top-performing teams at the FFIC 2022 Spring will get the coveted opportunity to represent the region at Free Fire’s next international tournament. The top 6 from FFIC 2022 Spring will also qualify directly for the Free Fire Pro League Summer. FFIC 2022 Spring will be broadcast live from the Closed Qualifiers Stage onwards and fans can tune in to the Free Fire Esports India YouTube Channel, as well as on Facebook and BOOYAH!.
