PUBG Mobile: India gets a special invitational slot to PMGC 2021 Grand Finals

The announcement receives mixed reactions from the global PUBGM fanbase

In the latest development by PUBG Mobile Esports, it has been officially confirmed that India will indeed be getting a direct invitation slot to PMGC 2021 Grand Finals, thus proving the rumors correct. The decision came at the eve of the league stages of the tournament which starts tomorrow, November 30.

The Grand Finals, where the invite will come into effect, will be held from January 21 to January 23, 2022, and will feature a prize pool of $6,000,000.

Which team will be invited from India

Even though the official post lacks a concrete way of determining the invited team, it can be safe to assume that it will be the champion team of Battlegrounds Mobile India Series or BGMIS which is the highest level of competition for the game in the Indian region. The said BGIS tournament will conclude just 2 days prior to the PMGC Finals and the invited team will then be free to travel to a location determined by the PUBG Mobile officials to ensure a fair ping.

This will open up the opportunity for the Indian teams who’ve kept grinding hoping to get a slot in the biggest tournament in PUBG Mobile. BGIS will feature popular teams such as TeamX Spark, GodLike, TSM, and SouL among others. It will also ensure the return of some stars such as Scout, Jonathan, and Mortal

India gets a slot in PMGC 2021 Grand Finals: The fans’ reaction

While it’s a happy announcement for the Indian fanbase, it has also been met with mixed reviews by the global fan base. Teams across the world have worked hard to earn a spot into the mere league stages of the event, while an Indian team will be getting a direct slot into the Grand Finals and thus bypass two stages of eliminations.

This has been deemed unfair as it undermines the effort put in by other teams, although, people seem to agree that an invite to the league stages would have been fair for all parties involved and would offer equal grounds. Despite the reviews, the event will still progress and we can only hope for the best team to win among the 40 teams from all over the world.
