Queen Walkers so near, yet so far...

The Clash of Clans World Championship 2021 concluded earlier today with Chinese esports team J.X. Tiger crowned as the champion after an impressive show over the weekend and clinching it in the finals against the mighty Queen Walkers, who ended up as the runners-up in the finals. The event as a whole featured a prize pool of $1,000,000 out of which $300,000 was distributed in the preliminary stages and the remaining $700,000 was distributed among the 8 teams participating in the world finals based on their standings.

The tournament was organized in a double-elimination bracket with 8 qualifying teams from around the world. Seeding was done based on the order in which the teams qualified for the finals with the first qualifying team getting 1st seed and the last qualifying team getting the 8th seed. Going into the tournament, Queen Walkers was a fan favorite to grab the title. It should be noted that Queen Walkers was the runner-up in 2020 too, which says a lot about their consistency at the top with a great band of players.

But they got rightly outsmarted by JXT who have proved themselves more than worthy of the honor after they displayed an overwhelming performance in the finals as well as throughout the tournament. Being the champion of Clash of Clans World Championship 2021, J.X. Tiger took home prize money of $250,000 while runner-up Queen Walkers secured a $150,000 prize pool money.

Conclusion

With the finals concluding, the 6-month long affair of the Clash Of Clans World Championship 2021 has also come to an end. This year, we saw Supercell switch up their formats to allow even more underdog teams and new players to try and qualify to fight among the best and to make the tournament a more open one. The monthly qualifiers did just that and we got the best seeds among all teams via a fair system.

Also, the heartbreak of Queen Walkers as they lose once again while being ever so close to the title and the crowning of the new champions proves that no matter how good you are, only the best of the day takes the cake. The success of the tournament has also shown us that Clash Of Clans as a game is still not done yet, and has more to offer.
