Ninjas in Pyjamas to enter League of Legends Wild Rift through the merger with ESV5

They come into the party with lots of expectations!

Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP), a Swedish professional esports organization, is set to enter the world of League of Legends: Wild Rift and is looking to participate in League of Legends Professional League (LPL) China by 2022. The organization has announced its merger with Chinese company ESV5 which is jointly owned by esports organization eStar Gaming and Victory Five (V5). Currently, NIP is home to five major esports titles that are Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Valorant, FIFA, and Rainbow Six Siege. This merger with ESV5 is the first step forward to reach the dream NIP holds.

A massive step for Ninjas in Pyjamas aiming to participate in LPL 2022

Ninjas in Pyjamas’s merging with ESV5 will open some fortune doors as they’re planning to be listed on NASDAQ, the American stock exchange, and the second biggest stock exchanges by shares traded, by the end of the year. If they manage to do so, NIP Group will become the first-ever esports organization to become a publicly listed company in the United States. This project is said to have combined revenue of more than 400 million yuan ($61.70 million) for 2021, according to Reuters.

Ninjas in Pyjamas Wild Rift
Third time for NIP to enter into the Wild Rift esports scene

“This is pretty massive, bigger than anything we’ve done before. More crowded arenas to entertain, more fans to satisfy, cooler merch to make, and hopefully the start of a new successful and magical NIP story”, NIP said in a blog post.

However, this is the third time for Ninjas in Pyjamas to enter into the League of Legends: Wild Rift competitive scene. Prior to this merger, they entered competitive teams twice, before withdrawing in the final moments. On the other hand, the Chinese team, Victory Five has not seen any success in Wild Rift whatsoever. They will now be rebranded to Ninjas in Pyjamas in 2022 due to this merger. Moreover, due to regulations set by Riot, the name change will have to wait until the 2022 LPL Summer Split.

Lots of expectations from the newly formed team

Both of the parties (NIP and ESV5) are teaming up after a long time of thinking and decision-making. The merger between both these renowned organizations is leading them to step into the massive Chinese market where Wild Rift is going to be one of the top games soon. Also, this new deal will mark the return of NIP to the League of Legends professional scene and it is yet to be seen how does it go for them in the Wild Rift esports arena.
