The team showed a valiant performance through an extraordinary undefeated run throughout the tournament. ONIC Esports beat another powerhouse Blacklist International in the Grand Finals with a scoreline of 4-2. ONIC Esports will be taking USD $140,000 as the champions of the tournament.
MLBB Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2023: ONIC Esports’ Road to Victory
MLBB Southeast Asia Cup 2023 featured the top teams of this region going against each other for the title of the regional champions. The team list consisted of all the winners and runners of the major Mobile Legends leagues. Among all the teams, ONIC Esports showed extraordinary performance and took the spot of the champions.
ONIC Esports has maintained a flawless run throughout the tournament. Coming from Group C, the team had BURN x Flash and Outplay as its opponents in the Group Stage. The champions beat the team with a 2-0 score on each of the maps and qualified for the playoffs.
In the Quarter Finals, ONIC Esports went against EVOS Legends and they faced ECHO in the Semi-Finals. EVOS Legends and ECHO both of them being prominent names from Indonesia and the Phillippines respectively, still could not manage to hold up with ONIC Esports, as they got beaten by the champions with a scoreline of 2-0.
On the other hand, Blacklist International had yet another successful run throughout the tournament as they also qualified as the top team from the Group Stage, and maintained an unbeaten run till the Grand Finals. However, the former powerhouse also was not enough to hold down ONIC even after giving a tough fight. ONIC Esports beat Blacklist International with a scoreline of 4-2 after a nail-biting Best of 7 (Bo7) match and became the champions of MSC 2023.
