PUBG Mobile World Invitational (PMWI 2021): Invited teams, Dates, Prize Pool and more

Tournament with biggest prize pool!

Staying true to their word of continuing the explosive esports scene of the globally popular game, the PUBG Mobile officials have brought in yet another exciting tournament, known as PUBG Mobile World Invitational PMWI 2021 for the summer powered by Gamers without Borders with OnePlus sponsoring the smartphones and Nimo TV as the media partner. It will have 32 teams from across the world participating in its two divisions of East and West Zones. Each zone will have 16 teams.

PUBG Mobile World Invitational (PMWI 2021): Prize Pool and Dates

An invitational-only tournament, it seems like a successor to the discontinued PMWL. PUBG Mobile World Invitational PMWI 2021 will be organized similarly with the 32 teams divided into East and West zones, each having 16 teams. PMWI East will cover the entirety of Asia, Eastern Europe and Africa. Whereas, PMWI West will cover the Americas, Western Europe and Africa. The tournament will have a combined $3,000,000 charity prize pool which will to date be the highest of any global PUBGM event. The event will be held across a period of 4 days. It will likely have 6 matches each day and a total of 24 matches like the earlier PMWL.

The tournament will not stand for qualification into the PMPL or the PMGC. It is the highest level of competition for the game as the PMWI is an invitational tournament that is not based on merit qualifications. The event will start on July 22nd, 2021 and end on July 25th, 2021. It is the same for both PMWI East and PMWI West.

The tournament will see a tough fight between some of the biggest names and worldwide teams. Some emerging teams can act as spoilers to the big teams and emerge as a surprise. The event is supposedly going to be online with little to no chance of a LAN event being held on such short notice in the current state of world health issues. In fact, the tournaments will emulate and PMWL finals in every way except the competitive value and prize pool.

Big teams like Bigetron, Natus Vincere, and Zeus will also get a chance to further assert their dominance, showing the world they are considered among the top-tier of PUBGM Esports teams. Thus it is anticipated that the tournament will be decent to great success, owing to the increasing viewership of the game and the hard work and efforts put in by the organizers.
