With over 400,000 participants engaged in the Open Qualifiers across 217 territories and record-breaking viewership during the Final Stage, the 2023 edition of the Roland-Garros eSeries by Renault has undoubtedly left a lasting impression.

Over the past two years, this esports event has been hosted on the mobile game Tennis Clash, whose remarkable success is now indisputable, boasting over 150 million downloads and 5 million monthly active users. Moreover, Tennis Clash, developed by Wildlife Studios, has recently gained further recognition by being selected as one of the featured games for the Olympics Esport Series in 2023, aligning with the surging popularity of virtual sports.

Recognizing this evolving landscape, Roland-Garros continues to cement its position as a frontrunner in the virtual sports arena, inspiring the other three Grand Slam tournaments to organize their virtual competitions on Tennis Clash. On May 25th, 2024, the stage is set for an electrifying showdown at Roland-Garros as eight competitors vie for the prestigious champion’s title! Among them, the reigning champion William “Fozzy” Foster, who has triumphed in the last two editions, stands ready to defend his crown against a field of formidable challengers.

These contenders comprise four qualifiers from the intense Open Qualifiers, alongside the top female player from the initial rounds. Adding an extra dimension to the competition, two wildcard entries are also in the mix: one awarded to the standout player from the Handigamers Association, and the other granted to none other than Gilles Simon.

Renowned as a former ATP world number 6, a Davis Cup victor, and recently aligned with Daniil Medvedev’s team, Simon etches his name in history as the first professional tennis player to venture into the realm of esports, bridging the gap between these two dynamic worlds. With stakes high and anticipation soaring, the Final Stage promises to deliver an unforgettable clash of skill, strategy, and sheer determination.
