Wild Rift, the mobile spin-off of the popular PC MOBA title known as League of Legends has been gaining immense popularity recently. Therefore, it is no surprise to see the announcement of the very first Wild Rift Benelux Championship which is set to begin on January 8, 2022.
Wild Rift Benelux Championship 2022: Tournament format
The Wild Rift Benelux Championship will feature teams from both Netherlands and Belgium. The first phase of the tournament involves separate qualifiers for the Dutch and Belgium teams. Each qualifier will have a total of 32 teams. The 32 teams in both nations will battle it out for a top 2 spot which would take them into the “main” phase of the tournament. As of now, no teams have been confirmed yet although, of course, that is expected to change.
During the main phase, the top 2 teams from each of the two countries will face off in the semi-finals of the tournament which is a straight-up knockout round. From here things are pretty straightforward as two of these teams will advance to the final in the hopes of landing the grand cash prize of €1000.

The dates for the competition have been announced as follows. More detailed fixtures are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks once registrations fill up. Until then, keep an eye on this space:
- Belgium Qualifier: January 8, 13:00
- Dutch Qualifier: January 9, 13:00
- Finals: January 30, 17:00
Wild Rift Benelux Championship 2022: Prize pool
The total prize pool of the tournament is €1000 which is divided among the four finalists as follows. Do note that the cash award stated is for the entire team and not every individual player:
- 1st place: €500
- 2nd place: €250
- 3rd place: €125
- 4th place: €125
Where to watch
Players can watch the semi-finals and finals of the championship on the official Twitch channel of EsportsPrimeLOL. For the qualifiers, no official links have been given out yet but you can keep track of the results by joining the official discord server of the tournament.
