Clash of Clans Town Hall 12: What to follow after Town Hall upgrade is completed
When you finish off the Town Hall upgrade, the resources should be full and enough to busy your 5 builders (almost all will have 5 by the time you reach Th12). After the completion of the Town Hall upgrade, you should look into your priorities, order them and go with it. As you kick start Town Hall 12, it’s better to stay out of wars until you upgrade up your troops and semi-max defenses. Be it offensive or defensive, you should be ready for it when considered. Because it avoids matchmaking weight of a just upgraded Town Hall 12 in wars. Above all, it gives you a chance to prepare better for wars with max troops. Stick on farming and upgrades that build your base and troops.
Clash of Clans Town Hall 12 Upgrade Priorities
Following the correct upgrade steps is important. Therefore, have an idea of what upgrades are you going to make, think which is essential for the early development of your base and then go for it. To make things simpler, we have a basic upgrade priority mentioned below:
Essential and always the first priority of any clasher. The need for higher-level troops is very important, even if you prefer farming in that instance. The idea of having maxed out troops for the particular Town Hall is enforced by upgrading the Laboratory. Then again, you will have to use other resources to upgrade troops. But unless you are not raiding it won’t be a problem. But remember, don’t leave your lab free. Let it be running upgrading troops, a free lab delays your upgrading.
2. Army Camps
Better the count, better the advantages. Rightfully said so, upgrading the Army Camp in Clash of Clans Town Hall 12 is significant, it gives you 20 extra space, which can increase the chances of a successful raid or attack. Even if you are short of elixir, you can collect them slowly and then upgrade your army camps.
You have to upgrade your storage in order to save more loot. As Town Hall 12 has units that cost more than the max storage space of Town Hall 11 (Ex: Clan Castle) you will have to upgrade your storage. While you are busy with the Laboratory and Army Camp upgrades, which are both Elixir resources, utilize your Gold on Elixir storage upgrades. With this, you can have plenty of resources filled for the next upgrade.
By getting your Gold and Elixir busy, you can utilize your Dark Elixir for your Heroes. Barbarian King and Archer Queen both reach a maximum level of 65, which are Dark Elixir upgrades. While your Grand Warden has higher-level improvements waiting since at Th11 you will have Lvl20 Warden, which has to be upgraded to level 40 in Town Hall 12. Initially, you will have to patiently wait for your elixir upgrades to finish so that you can concentrate on upgrading your Grand Warden. Then after potential Elixir Upgrades, shift your focus on the Grand Warden.
5. Clan Castle
Clan Castle can be upgraded only after upgrading your resource storage. On upgrading, you get +5 extra troops to fit in your Clan Castle. It might sound meh, but here’s the bonus. You can have 2 Yetis, 2 Dragons, an Extra Loon, an extra Valkyrie. Stop. Guess this is enough to make you understand that upgrading the Clan Castle will help you in both Attack and Defense.
Units and Items that are unlocked in Town Hall 12
Very powerful offensive units that are available for use in Town Hall 12. If you are in a clan that is active in donating Siege Machines, then suggest not to build it unless the basic upgrades are completed.
This troop is really a good offensive tank. After unlocking, better you upgrade it to level 2. It is best utilized for Wars and Trophy Pushing. Another advantage is that Yeti can be used in any ground attack combos.
A common question and confusion. After I’m done with the Laboratory upgrade, what next? So, if you are focused on Farming, we would insist you to upgrade farming troops like Barbarians, Archers, Giants etc.
If you plan to play wars (in our opinion, don’t) at the start, its better to make sure you have at least one preferred War Troop Combination upgraded before you play wars. In addition, these are some of our suggestions, which can be utilized for both Farming and Wars:
Giants, Witch, Bowlers, Electro Drags (mass E-Drags are not preferred in the farming perspective) and Miners.
While you have focus on Spell Upgrades, troops should be your first priority.
Strengthen your Defense
The above priorities are mentioned in a perspective leaning towards improvements in the offense, if not particular but in some sort. In the defensive side, there isn’t any order that you should follow, but if you would like to go for higher weight in your defense, go with X-Bows, Infernos and Wizard Tower upgrades. Infernos, in particular, carry a lot of weight to the base and deals great damage at higher levels.
If you prefer your base to have lower weight, we strongly suggest you to upgrade your walls. Upgrading the walls might seem a tiring process, but its best done than ignored. At the later stages, when you max out your defense and troops in Town Hall 12 but not the walls; and looking towards Town Hall 13, you would feel lazy to max out the remaining walls and jump directly to Town Hall 13. Avoiding this will be better.
Considering other defenses, its recommended to upgrade the Tesla Towers. It is always great to surprise opponents with a higher Tesla Tower levels which most don’t expect on a growing Town Hall 12 base. Another advantage is because they don’t carry much weight unlike other troops.
You can follow by then upgrading Air Defenses, Cannons, Archer Towers and then other defenses.
Clash of Clans Town Hall 12 Upgrades: The Giga Tesla
Town Hall, level 12 is the only TH level in Clash of Clans to have Giga Teslas activated under attack (not ignoring the Giga Inferno at TH13). A level 1 Giga Tesla is already built-in with the Town Hall when the Town Hall level 12 upgrade is completed. It is activated when the Town Hall is damaged (by troops or spell), or when 51% of the base is destroyed.
|DAMAGE PER SECOND
|NUMBER OF TARGETS HIT
|DPS PER TARGET
Upgrading the Giga Tesla is actually a good practice, but from 4 to 5, there is a huge weight added to your base. The Giga Tesla improves significantly when upgraded, so depending on how you want your base to be, you can decide when to improve your Town Hall 12 defense. A level 5 Giga Tesla has Destruction Damage which can easily clear out troops with low Hit points. In conclusion, it is good if you insist on maxing out your Giga Tesla.
Clash of Clans Town Hall 12: Attacking Strategies
Farming in Clash of Clans follows simple steps:
- Using an adequate amount of resources and items.
- Stay in a lower league. (Depends on your army)
- Defense targeting troops if incase loot is inside the base.
A common farming strategy was Mass Goblins. But this has been not very effective because of how powerful Wizard Towers and Mortars’ splash damage is.
So Barch (Barbarians + Archers) has been common in low leagues. Still, it’s not easy to execute on Crystal+ leagues. Even a dead Town Hall 12 can take down this combo easily.
Another cheap strategy could be Miners + Queen walk with Goblins/Barch/Minions. Clearing out some resource buildings using Queen Walk, utilizing the miners and heroes for clearing out enemy units. In your Clan Castle, carry troops like Loons, Hogs, Giants to distract enemy defenses and help to loot more.
Giants + Wiz + Goblins/Barch is also a solid strategy for farming. Sometimes Giants + Witch gives you a balance between Elixir and Dark Elixir.
Utilizing the events and reduced costs of troops is also an effective way to farm. You get a cheaper army to raid with.
If you are pushing for a higher league, you can use Yeti – Pekka, Mass E-Drags + Loon, Baby Loon, GiWiBo (Giants + Witch + Bowlers) etc. strategies. But after a particular level, it becomes difficult as bases get tougher and planning your attacks is key, withing the 30 seconds available.
There are combinations that can be very effective in pushing. Many prefer Mass Hogs, as it targets defenses, so guaranteed you can get a star at worst. Another popular meta is the mass Electro Dragon attack, which most feel safe at. Well, it’s not always the troops you carry, it’s based on the level of your troops and the strategy you follow. Better heroes are another requirement, knowing different attacking strategies and troop combos makes you climb high.
War attacks are different compared to pushing and farming. For example, you have a lot of time to think about planning an attack on a base, imagining the traps and units that might get activated, etc. However, choosing the right strategy for a base plays a major role.
However, one attack strategy isn’t applicable for all types of bases, there are some changes which are followed. It follows on how you plan your attack, how your troops should go through, how to take out vulnerable defenses, and so on. Here are some tips to follow for landing good war attacks:
- Always have your war troops and spells maxed out for Town Hall 12
- Know your strategy and keep it well planned.
- Plan according to your opponent base
- Don’t keep any heroes under upgrade/heal for wars
- Ask the pros for tips
- Don’t rush troops early, patiently clear distractive buildings, and then push your troops inside.
The DragBat Attack is one of the best strategies whilst offering the brilliant potential of a 3-star attack in Clash of Clans. It is highly recommended after practice only; as it is never easy to execute an attack first time. Here’s a video on how it is executed.
A popular strategy, which is risky at times. Preferred to attack bases where Infernos are set to multiple targets because if in case Infernos lock to your Pekkas, it might be trouble getting a triple on the base. Pekkas are paired with Hogs or Bowlers, followed by a Queen Walk.
Similar to the Pekka smash, there is Yeti smash. You can have a combo of Yeti + Pekka or Yeti + Bowlers. If you are comfortable with queen walks, you can have a queen walk/warden walk to clear out the outside units so that you can push your Yeti and Pekka inside.
Because of troops being slow, it is advisable to make sure your queen survives for the maximum time.
These are just examples; it is not necessary to practice these if you have other better strategies. In addition, you can refer this video for another strategy for Clash of Clans Town Hall 12 if you want to practice more attacks.
Clash of Clans Town Hall 12: Base Layouts

But now, it has been simple. Clicks on the link and you get your base copy. It would have been difficult for many, particularly at higher Town Hall levels to design a base layout.
