eFootball 2025 brings back the European Club Guardians Epic pack to the game, and with a twist, we have three top-tier cards in the frame: Petr Cech, Franz Beckenbauer, and Klaus Augenthaler. The constant barrage of strikers and forwards has been a troubling sight, but now we are getting more defenders.
So, the big question is: do these legends live up to their hype and make a difference on the pitch? Here’s my take on how this defensive trio stacks up in eFootball 2025 in this pack review.
European Clubs Guardians Epic pack in eFootball 2025
Again, we see 150 players in this pack with three Epic cards in them. Two of them have Show Time skills, while one is your regular Epic.
Franz Beckenbauer
- Position: DMF
- Playing Style: Orchestrator
- Showtime Skill: Fortress
Beckenbauer as an Orchestrator DMF is something that I didn’t expect, really, as I was waiting for his CB card. Well, since KONAMI might have thought they gave one of his cards for free, players might not be interested in going for another.
From the numbers themselves, you can see there is a rare mix of elite stats throughout the card, no number drops to the average, all solid numbers, hence you can say the definition of a complete player, I can say. With passing and strong defensive numbers, it fits well in the current eFootball meta.
Well, I know that just like me, you all have the urge to give him a build to fit at CB, and surely he can do that. But what I felt was that it was a waste of the playmaking skills that he received for the Orchestrator role. He needs the defending skills for the CB, and if you give him those, surely he will be up there with the best.
So, how can you build him? I would suggest you lean towards a slightly CMF/DMF mix, make him a creator from the midfield while also being a solid defensive cover in the middle of the pitch.
Petr Cech
- Position: GK
- Playing Style: Defensive Goalkeeper
- Showtime Skill: Fortress
The favorite card for many, you can’t go wrong with Petr Cech’s player ID. Given that he was my first pull, I tested him both online and in AI games, and he’s a wall for sure. I didn’t lean towards the auto build, instead, I pushed his Reflexes and Reach stats to the high 90s.
These numbers show in-game, as I noticed he makes tough saves look easy and holds the ball more than most. Still, he does feel sluggish off his line, so he’s not your go-to for aggressive sweeping, especially in high lines. But against inside-the-box threats, crosses, and direct shots, he’s rock solid.
Klaus Augenthaler
- Position: CB
- Playing Style: Build Up
The main reason I opted to go for this pack was this guy. I wanted a good ball-playing CB without the compromise of other stats. In-game, Augenthaler’s tackling and engagement are top-tier. I like how calm this card this, just clean recovery of the ball and begin building up counters.
I don’t have his Physical Contact over 90, still, he rarely gets shrugged off and has some of the best man-marking behavior among build-up CBs. His speed isn’t exceptional, but you can push it to around mid-80s with the right build.
Surely, don’t miss out on giving him Heading skill, and for a stronger backup, I prefer a tall CB beside him. I see him as a great fit in central CB roles, especially when you want a good ball-playing defender in a 3 atb setup.
Best Epic card from the European Clubs Guardians pack in eFootball 2025
Another top-tier pack where all three are strong picks depending on your squad’s needs. If you have coins saved, go for it. Permanent B form allows you to use it the most, so just don’t go by plain numbers.
