The eFootball 2026 v5.3.0 update is finally here, and with it comes something mobile players might sweat a little and console players will rejoice: Controller Support. Right now, there’s a small catch. At the time of writing, controller support on mobile is limited to AI modes only.
PvP support hasn’t gone live yet, which, when it does arrive, will feel a bit unbalanced, but it will be coming in a future update. Still, even in its current state, this is a big step forward for players who have good game control on console.
With many players looking for ways to connect and play using a controller, this guide will walk you through how to connect a controller to eFootball 2026 on mobile, whether you’re using a wired connection or going wireless.
How to play eFootball 2026 on your mobile using a controller
Connecting and playing via Wireless Controller
You can follow the steps below on both Android and iOS devices in the same way.

- Turn on your controller and put it into pairing mode. The connection will be via Bluetooth.
- For PlayStation controllers: hold PS + Create/Share until the light flashes, and for Xbox controllers: hold the Pair button near the top. You can use any other controller make as well. I’m using EasySMX X15, which works amazingly.
- Open Settings on your phone and go to Bluetooth.
- Wait for your controller name to appear and tap it. Confirm the pairing.
- Once it shows as connected, you’re good to go.
Connecting and playing via Wired Controller
If you want the most stable input with the least delay, wired is a solid option. However, the connection part is kind of difficult as you need to follow a few extra steps.
- To connect, first get a USB-C OTG cable.
- Most phones don’t have a full-size USB port, so this adapter is what lets your phone connect to the controller properly. They are pretty cheap and easily available.
- Once you have the adapter, plug the USB-C end into your phone.
- Plug your controller’s USB cable into the OTG adapter.
- Your phone should recognize the controller almost instantly, no extra settings needed.
- Test your controller with the game on mobile; it should work.

If you’ve ever wanted to play eFootball on your phone but with the comfort of a controller, now it is possible. Pair it with screen casting to a TV or monitor, and it honestly starts to feel like you’re playing on a much bigger setup.
