BGIS 2026 Grand Final: How the Finals went
Before the beginning of the tournament final, it was arguably the most hyped final to date, and it lived up to that. The BGIS 2026 Grand Final was the first time that three of the fan-favourite teams- SouL, GodLike, and Revenant Xspark were present on the same stage. This time, the lobby was also one of the toughest as almost all of the tier-1 teams were playing in it. The overall LAN atmosphere was electrifying throughout the three days. The online viewership also shattered all the previous records as the BGIS 2026 Finals clocked a peak concurrent viewership of 600,000 across all the streams on YouTube.
On day 1, many teams performed well and kept themselves higher on the points table. But by the end of day 2, it was all about Team SouL and Team Genesis Esports. This BGIS meant a lot to these two teams. After the 3rd match of day 3, it was looking like Team SouL had successfully secured the tournament. But, an immaculate comeback from team Genesis and some mishaps from SouL took the tournament to the last match. HunterZ from Genesis Esports showed why he is called a ‘LAN Demon’ in the community. His solo Chicken Dinner helped Genesis to stay in the race.
The last match of day 3 was like a thriller movie. It had all the ingredients to become an absolute blockbuster. From two early player eliminations of team SouL in the form of their leader NakuL and their main talisman Legit, to continuous zone-favouring of team Genesis, it was looking like Genesis would snatch the tournament from Team SouL’s hands in the last match of the tournament. But in the final zones, both teams failed to make it to the Chicken Dinner, and Genesis could not chase down the 8-point lead of team SouL. Hence, the latter finally got their much-deserving official tournament trophy after 4 long years.
