eFootball 2026 Treasure Link January 2026 Epic pack review and player tier list

The best picks out of the five?

The eFootball 2026 frenzy this New Year has kicked off in grand style, I would say, as Treasure Link has made its comeback after four long months of waiting. While there are a few debates among players since the rewards have been reduced compared to the last campaign, we still have some freebies to enjoy.

If you check the eFootball 2026 Treasure Link Epic pack now live, you will see what I’m talking about. Five amazing players in the mix, and many would want to rack the Chance Deals from the Special Treasure Link. So, to give you an overview of the picks, here are my reviews.

Five players are here, and all are different cards. Show Time skills for two cards have been given, and that is the selling point for a couple of the players.

Lothar Matthäus

  • Position: AMF
  • Playing Style: Hole Player
  • Showtime Skill: Phenomenal Pass

Matthaus could play almost anywhere in midfield, or even drop into defense, and he’s often considered one of the best ever in his role. Revisiting this card after spending more time with it, I honestly feel he’s even better than when I first tried him.

Compared to his more defensive Box-to-Box version, this Hole Player variant really brings out his attacking instincts. He feels like he never stops running, and that insane stamina stat means you can keep him on the pitch all game without worrying about replacing him.

Phenomenal Pass is put to good use, works well with him. What I still love is how complete he feels. He gets into scoring positions almost like a second striker, thanks to the Hole Player playstyle, yet he also drops back and tracks runners because Track Back is built in.

Dimitar Berbatov

  • Position: CF
  • Playing Style: Deep-Lying Forward
  • Showtime Skill: Phenomenal Finishing

Berbatov represents a classic technical striker archetype, focusing more on intelligence, control, and link-up play than raw speed, much to the disappointment of through-ball spammers. Well, no digs taken here.

If you compare this with his first card, which was released in eFootball 2025, this card gets a dent on the overalls, but apart from Offensive Awareness, I don’t see many changes here. Deep-Lying Forward, and he looks good at holding the ball and decent at quick 1-2s. Aerial Game also looks decent.

Phenomenal Finishing is a solid plus for this card. Again, Berbatov is not explosive over long distances, but his acceleration and positioning compensate for that limitation. He is best suited for the Possession Game style, if you ask me.

Giorgio Chiellini

  • Position: CB
  • Playing Style: Destroyer
  • Showtime Skill: None

This was Chiellini’s first Epic card, if I remember correctly, and given the current meta, it could be a slower card unless you play with the build a little. Now, if you ask my experience, he is a strong card, fits the Destroyer mould with height and defensive dominance being fun.

He’s big, strong, and plays like an old-school centre-back who doesn’t mess around. Shielding with him is genuinely fun, and he dominates most physical duels with ease. His tackling is aggressive and clean; maybe it is because sliding tackles are easier to execute.

The main downside, and it’s a noticeable one, is the lack of any Showtime skill, which feels like a big miss for an Epic card of this stature. He’s also not the quickest defender, so if he’s dragged high up the pitch, recovery can be an issue.

Roberto Donadoni

  • Position: LMF
  • Playing Style: Hole Player
  • Showtime Skill: None

Donadoni is that fun, flair-heavy wide player you bring in when you want your left side to come alive. I’ve tried this card before, and to be honest, while there are many Hole Players that are better statistically, Donadoni remains a fun card to use.

He’s extremely fast, light on his feet, and plays like a hybrid between a classic winger and a creative midfielder. His ball control, tight possession, and dribbling combo remain his strengths. AMF, or as a winger, seems to be a better choice.

Bojan Krkić

  • Position: RWF
  • Playing Style: Prolific Winger
  • Showtime Skill: None

Amazing dribbling, tight possession, and ball control stats, well, that definitely defines the young star that was Bojan Krkic. The player ID looks to be that fantastic dribbler card, and I must say you can have good fun with him if you love dribbling.

Even speed and acceleration numbers in the 90s make it a strong winger card. Finishing is decent, that, alongside the kicking power in 80s, does tell me he is good in the box but not long rangers. Super Sub is a good option; he can be very effective against tired legs.

Here’s my ranking of the players on the overview of numbers, experience of play, and the current meta.

TierPlayers
SSS (Endgame)None
SS (Excellent)Lothar Matthäus
S (Strong)Dimitar Berbatov, Giorgio Chiellini
A (Good)Bojan Krkić, Roberto Donadoni
