Team of the Season is finally here in FIFA Mobile 22. One of the most popular events in the FIFA Mobile calendar recognizes the best performers from each league season. This year, we have an event packed with challenges, rewards, and of course, brand new cards. With so much choice available, picking the best option takes a bit of thinking. We’re here with the TOTS Player reviews, where we look at each of the FIFA Mobile 22 TOTS starters from the major leagues starting with the Premier League, analyzing their playstyles, and detailing their pros and cons.
The second league of the FIFA Mobile 22 TOTS event is the Premier League. A selection of players was selected from the top flight of English football, and with a community vote, a squad was chosen. The league’s top 2 sides, Manchester City and Liverpool took the spotlight, contributing 8 out of 11 starters, whilst Manchester United and Tottenham representatives filled the remaining slots.
All those calculations. All that time. All that effort. It all comes down to this. Choose wisely!
FIFA Mobile 22 Premier League TOTS Players
João Cancelo (LB)
- Overall: 94
- Requirement: 28000 TOTS Community Points
- Skill Boost: Balanced
Overview
João Cancelo was an important player behind Manchester City‘s title charge. He made 50 appearances for his team in all competitions, creating 10 goals and popping another 3 in himself. The Portuguese can play as a wingback on either side and is known for his ball control and passing ability.
VSA
As a more attacking-focused wing-back, Cancelo isn’t especially a thorn in defense, but he can cause some problems with his catch-up speed. On the flip-side, his dribbling ability comes in handy for attacking chances, and Cancelo’s long shots were surprisingly decent as well.
H2H
Defensively, Cancelo appears quite solid but you will want him pushing up as often as possible. He is a great dribbler, especially in small spaces, and has a killer pass to create chances. In addition, Cancelo is a dependable defender and can catch up to most wingers quite well. Inverted wing-backs aren’t common, but they are actually quite useful in some situations and are quick to get used to too. Overall, this is a very good attacking left-back that does exactly what is expected.
Bruno Fernandes (CAM)
- Overall: 94
- Requirement: 28000 TOTS Community Points
- Skill Boost: Counter
Overview
In an underwhelming Manchester United side, there were few positives to take away. However, looking at the numbers, it seems as though the Red Devils would have been worse off if it wasn’t for Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese Midfielder recorded 10 goals and 6 assists in the league, contributing to more than a quarter of his team’s goals all season.
VSA
This card genuinely has everything to be a very useful goalscorer for VSA. Bruno has the shot power, accuracy, and ball control of a lethal attacker, but the 3* weak foot brings the quality of this card down. As a central player, the ball will definitely fall to Bruno’s left at some point. Nonetheless, if this can be managed, then Bruno could be a great addition to the team.
H2H
Because of his playmaking and finishing ability, Bruno is a great option for H2H. He will operate towards the edge of the opposition 3rd, taking long shots, and playing passes in and around the box. The only other downside (apart from the weak foot) is his pace, though that will rarely make a difference to his role on the pitch anyway. On the whole, Bruno is a useful CAM that can both score and create – although the 3* weak foot is very limiting.
Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)
- Overall: 95
- Requirement: 42000 TOTS Community Points
- Skill Boost: Pace
Overview
After a fairly underwhelming season prior, Trent hit back into double digits with 2 goals and 12 assists in 31 league games. He only just missed out on the PL Golden Playmaker award too, with teammate Salah beating Trent by one assist. The 23-year-old is regarded as one of the best passers in the league, or even the world, with his crosses and long balls often resulting in chances for teammates.
VSA
Trent is a decent defender for VSA – not a complete pain to get past, but not useless either. He can time tackles well and can recover quickly when stunned. In attacking chances, he contributes fine as well. Trent feels very smooth on the ball, and his shots have decent power on them too.
H2H
Crosses are not as useful as they have been in previous seasons, but Trent still does his job as an attacking RB. His passing range looks great, and he is fluid when on the ball. With the skill boost being Pace, this card can get really fast, which is basically the icing on the cake. All in all, Trent is the ideal attacking RB that does a solid job for the team.
Bernardo Silva (CM)
- Overall: 95
- Requirement: 42000 TOTS Community Points
- Skill Boost: Vision
Overview
Bernardo Silva played as one of the best players in the league at one point this season. He established himself as a key player in Guardiola‘s plans, making 34 league appearances, and registering 8 goals and 4 assists. Bernardo is known to be a versatile player, who can function in midfield and anywhere across the front three. Few other players in England have the dribbling and passing ability to match Bernardo Silva.
VSA
Because of how fluid he feels on the ball, Bernardo Silva is a great player for VSA. He keeps the chances flowing and momentum running, which is very important for this mode. His shots are also impressive for a midfielder. The 3* weak foot isn’t ideal but it isn’t that big of a drawback for this position.
H2H
Generally, this card performs well in 90-minute matches. Bernardo is a great playmaker, and also a great ball-carrier. The only issue arises when Bernardo gets outnumbered, or outpowered, in midfield. He really lacks a presence on the pitch and gets pushed around easily. The best solution is to play him in a three-man midfield, where he can push forward without creating problems behind him.
All things considered, Bernardo is a very fun card to use, because of his silky ball control and accurate passing. However his lack of strength causes him to be overrun at times, so surrounding Bernardo with good defensive support is key to getting the most out of him.
Alisson Becker (GK)
- Overall: 96
- Requirement: 67000 TOTS Community Points
- Skill Boost: Number 1
Overview
Liverpool‘s solid defense was one of the big reasons why they won two trophies this season, and almost clinched the league title as well. Alisson has been a key part of that defense, and he certainly helps brings his side up a few levels. This season, he contributed to 20 clean sheets in 36 appearances.
VSA
Goalkeepers have been weird in this FIFA Mobile season. It seems like a well-powered shot will result in a goal regardless of who is in the opposition goal. For Alisson, it’s the same case. Whilst he is secure with the basic shot-stopping, Alisson struggles with long-shots, powered shots, and well-placed finesse shots – basically the things most keepers tend to struggle with within this mode.
H2H
Again, the weird case of underperforming goalkeepers applies here as well. This card doesn’t have anything in its shot-stopping that separates it from other keepers. Looking elsewhere though, Alisson does have a decent distribution which improves with the skill boost, and the Long Throw trait is worth making use of. In conclusion, this card is not much different from most other goalkeepers on the market. His shot-stopping is decent at best, although Alisson’s distribution is not bad, and can be of use in H2H.
Rúben Dias (CB)
- Overall: 96
- Requirement: 67000 TOTS Community Points
- Skill Boost: Defending
Overview
Dias only managed to start 27 out of 38 games in the Premier League this season, due to injury. However, he was an important player whenever he played, bringing leadership and stability to the backline. In addition, Dias also bagged 2 goals and a further 4 assists – the most goal contributions in a league season in his senior career.
VSA
The stats look great, and that transfers over to in-game performance. Dias is a really tough defender to get past. Physically, he is very big and barely moves when dribbled into. Furthermore, the times he tackles well and recovers quickly if dribbled past too. He also marks other players well, cutting out passing options and just making chances harder to complete.
H2H
Dias’ standing and sliding tackles work really well and hardly result in fouls. Because of his strength, Dias can push opposition attackers off the ball quickly when pressing. For a back three, Dias slots nicely into the middle, as his lack of speed hurts if he’s on the edges. In a back two, having a quick RB/CDM will be useful too. To conclude, Dias is a really solid defender, especially for VSA. His speed is an issue for H2H, though, with a bit of squad tinkering, this can be hidden away.
Heung-min Son (LW)
- Overall: 97
- Requirement: 111000 TOTS Community Points
- Skill Boost: Ball Control
Overview
Heung-min Son scored twice on the last day of the Premier League to come level with Salah for the Golden Boot. He scored 23 times, including no penalties, and set up a further 7 goals for his teammates. The winger is known as one of the toughest attackers to play against in the league, and his movement and finishing have proven to be devastating.
VSA
Son basically has everything a good attacker needs in VSA. Pace, dribbling, shooting, 5* weak foot – this is a complete winger and a good one too. It’s difficult to point out a drawback for this mode, since there really isn’t any. This is easily one of the best left-wingers in the game.
H2H
Again, this card looks flawless. Son feels smooth on the ball and has the finishing prowess and the speed to beat defenders. On top of that, he makes good runs forward, tracks back often, and has a decent bit of stamina to back that as well. In summary, Son is the ideal LW for any team. Although he is very costly, he ticks all the boxes for his position, and there are few players in the game that can do that.
Virgil van Dijk (CB)
- Overall: 97
- Requirement: 111000 TOTS Community Points
- Skill Boost: Strength
Overview
After a season plagued with injuries, Van Dijk was back in the Liverpool starting lineup for the 21/22 campaign. Instantly, the defense went up a few levels; they kept 21 clean sheets this term, in comparison to just 12 prior when Van Dijk was injured. The Dutchman is known as one of the best CBs in football, consistently performing at the highest levels.
VSA
As expected, Van Dijk is a really strong defender, both in ability and physicality. His tackles are well-timed and his reactions are quick, so it’s a challenge getting past him. Even when Van Dijk does get stunned he turns and gets back quickly to press the attacker. One thing to note though, Van Dijk’s positioning has looked slightly off at times. He often arrives into the box to defend, rather than being there in the first place.
H2H
Because of his pace and passing range, Van Dijk is the complete defender for H2H. He has a great presence both on the ground, and aerially, and is almost unbeatable in 1-on-1 duels. Van Dijk could easily play in any CB role, but partnering him with a fully-defensive CB could be useful, as this would allow Van Dijk to carry the ball a bit more, and make use of his long passing. To summarise, Van Dijk is as good as his stats suggest. He is a complete CB and is in that elite-level category.
Mohamed Salah (RW)
- Overall: 98
- Requirement: 163000 TOTS Community Points
- Skill Boost: Agility
Overview
At the start of the season, there was never a debate about who was the best player in the league at that point. Salah was literally scoring/assisting every game and blanked only once for 17 matches in a row. He ended the season as the joint top-scorer and top assister, with 23 goals and 13 assists.
VSA and H2H Gameplay
Salah has an incredible shot, which is backed by his quality ball control to make space for the finish. He has good strength over the ball as well, which combined with his speed makes Salah a deadly dribbler. If only he had the 5* weak foot, that would top it off so nicely. Nonetheless, this is still easily one of the best right-wingers on the market.
Kevin De Bruyne (CAM)
- Overall: 98

- Skill Boost: Dribbling
Overview
De Bruyne was recently named the Premier League Player of the Season after yet another stellar season with Manchester City. This season, he recorded 15 goals and 8 assists in just 25 start to help guide City to their 6th Premier League title. Usually known for his elite playmaking, De Bruyne was much more precise with his finishing this campaign, scoring his best season tally for goals in his senior career.
VSA and H2H Gameplay
De Bruyne has a magnificent card for this FIFA Mobile 22 Premier League TOTS. With great finishing, dribbling technique, and that lovely 5* weak foot, this card is perfect for VSA. For H2H, De Bruyne’s passing ability is brilliant both at shots and long-range. Some of the through balls this card pulls off doesn’t even seem possible beforehand. He genuinely ticks all the boxes and is the model for a perfect CAM in any mode.
Cristiano Ronaldo (ST)
- Overall: 98
- Requirement: 173000 TOTS Community Points
- Skill Boost: Second Striker
Overview
Despite being 37 years of age, Ronaldo is still out getting 20+ goal contributions in one of the most competitive leagues in the world. The Portuguese legend scored 18 times this season and tallied another 3 assists. Ronaldo guided Manchester United to a top 6 finish, and it’s evident that his team would have been much worse off without his performances.
VSA and H2H Gameplay
Ronaldo is the perfect mold for a Target Man striker. He has a very powerful and accurate shot, which when combined with his technical ability, makes him lethal inside the final 3rd. He has a great aerial presence, and is quite smooth on the ball too, despite his tall build. An upgrade to the weak foot would absolutely complete this card, but regardless, this is still a great and fun card to use.
