FIFA Mobile 22: Reviewing the Serie A TOTS Players

Choose only from the best players!

Team of the Season is finally here in FIFA Mobile 22. One of the most popular events in the FIFA Mobile calendar recognizes the best performers from each league season. This year, we have an event packed with challenges, rewards, and of course, brand new cards. With so much choice available, picking the best option takes a bit of thinking. We’re here with the TOTS Player reviews, where we look at each of the FIFA Mobile 22 TOTS starters from the major leagues, with this time being Serie A, analyzing their playstyles, and detailing their pros and cons.

The sixth and final league of the FIFA Mobile 22 TOTS event is the Serie A. A selection of players was selected from the top flight of Italian football, and with a community vote, a squad was chosen. League winners, AC Milan only had 3 representatives in the TOTS squad. Inter Milan, Lazio, and Juventus each had 2 whilst Napoli and a surprise entry by Sassuolo took the remaining two slots.

All those calculations. All that time. All that effort. It all comes down to this. Choose wisely!

FIFA Mobile 22 Serie A TOTS Players

Hakan Çalhanoğlu (CM)

FIFA RenderZ Hakan Çalhanoğlu
  • Overall: 94
  • Requirement: 28000 TOTS Community Points
  • Skill Boost: Vision

Overview

Hakan ÇalhanoÄŸlu had a very successful season with Inter Milan, scoring 7 goals and providing 13 assists in 34 appearances. He was a key player in Inter’s midfield, helping the team to a second-place finish in Serie A, just missing out on the title by 2 points. ÇalhanoÄŸlu is known for his vision, technique, and passing ability, and is considered to be a top midfielder in Serie A.

VSA

ÇalhanoÄŸlu shows up only occasionally in attacking chances in VSA, and he isn’t the kind of player you would try to get on the ball in VSA. He feels agile with the ball and has a decent pass on him which occasionally comes in handy. His finishing isn’t all that special so this card is more of a filler for this mode.

FM Stats Hakan Calhanoglu FIFA Mobile 22 Serie A TOTS

H2H

Because of his smooth dribbling and very impressive passing, this is a decent CM for H2H. ÇalhanoÄŸlu will receive the ball from deep and then try to create a play on his own since he doesn’t really make runs forward. In the other parts of his game, ÇalhanoÄŸlu falls short. He isn’t the strongest midfielder, and he can sometimes be dispossessed easily. In addition, his defensive support is far from reliable and he isn’t that quick either. All in all, it’s a decent midfield option for its purpose but there are better, more well-rounded options on the market.

Juan Cuadrado (RB)

FIFARenderZ Juan Cuadrado
  • Overall: 94
  • Requirement: 28000 TOTS Community Points
  • Skill Boost: Balanced

Overview

Cuadrado started 28 of Juventus‘ league games, scoring 4 goals and notching a further 4 assists. The Colombian has been bombing down the wing for Juventus for what is now 7 years. Cuadrado is particularly known for his dribbling as well as his cross-field passing.

VSA

This isn’t really a defensive right-back, but it still defends surprisingly well. Cuadrado doesn’t pop up as a defender often but when he does, he can cause a few issues. He can get stunned by skill moves but aside from that, Cuadrado is a solid defender. His tackles are timed and he can mark and follow attackers well with his speed. Obviously, though, his services are more required in H2H than in VSA.

FM Stats Juan Cuadrado FIFA Mobile 22 Serie A TOTS

H2H

Cuadrado is a decent RB option for H2H. He feels fluid when dribbling and has a very nice burst of speed. His final pass is also decent and he can get a lot of whip on his crosses. However, this isn’t a playmaker-type wing-back though, and Cuadrado’s crosses and long-balls are better seen as ways to throw the ball into dangerous areas, rather than to create a play – if that makes sense. Cuadrado’s defensive skillset is also not bad, but he doesn’t track back often enough to make full use of it. All in all, this is a fairly well-rounded option and can do a good job at RB.

Milan Å kriniar (CB)

FIFARenderZ Milan Å kriniar
  • Overall: 95
  • Requirement: 42000 TOTS Community Points
  • Skill Boost: Tackling

Overview

Skriniar was a key player for Inter Milan last term, as he has been for 5 years now. He featured in 35 league games and manages to score 3 goals. Inter Milan kept 15 clean sheets last season thanks to Skriniar’s performances. The 27-year-old is known to be a difficult defender for an attacker to face and he has shown his worth several times.

VSA

Skriniar is the ideal type of defender for VSA. With great strength and tackling, Skriniar is a tough player to get past. He can use his strength well too, by pushing off attackers and making powerful tackles. He moves quite quickly in the box and is quick to react to skill moves too. If you’re looking for a way to solidify a leaky defense, FIFA Mobile 22 Serie A TOTS Skriniar is definitely worth looking at.

FM Stats Milan Skriniar FIFA Mobile 22 Serie A TOTS
Image via Electronic Arts

H2H

Due to his pace, Skriniar is still a great option for H2H. He is a solid defender and can slot into the sides of a back three. For those that like to play out from the back, Skriniar is probably not the ideal option. He isn’t agile enough and lacks a decent enough passing range.

However, Skriniar is still worth buying if he can be partnered with a defender that is capable of bringing the ball out from the back. Skriniar would act as the more aggressive defender in what would be a fantastic CB partnership.

Sergej Milinković-Savić (CM)

FIFARenderZ Sergej Milinković-Savić
  • Overall: 95
  • Requirement: 42000 TOTS Community Points
  • Skill Boost: Long Passing

Overview

Milinkovic-Savic had his best season by goal contributions the last term. He bagged 11 goals and notched a further 11 assists, totaling 22 goal contributions in 37 appearances. The Serbian has been a key part of Lazio’s midfield for 7 years now. He helped the Italian outlet to a 5th place finish in the league, securing UEL football for next season.

VSA

Milinkovic-Savic is a fairly useful midfielder that can do a good job for VSA. In particular, his shots were very powerful for a midfielder and are worth making use of. He also has that 5* weak foot which does come in handy in certain situations. However, a big drawback to this card is its agility. Milinkovic-Savic feels quite stiff on the ball and has a slow turn. Because of that, this can be a frustrating card at times.

FM Stats Sergej Milinkovic-Savic FIFA Mobile 22 Serie A TOTS

H2H

Some H2H matches can be quite fast-paced and having a player with a slow turn in midfield is far from ideal. Milinkovic-Savic often ends up losing the ball in midfield because of his sluggish turns. If this can be looked over, there is a pretty decent midfielder here. Milinkovic-Savic has a fantastic passing range, a powerful shot, and decent defensive skillset as well.

Rafael Leão (LW)

FIFARenderZ Rafael Leao
  • Overall: 96
  • Requirement: 67000 TOTS Community Points
  • Skill Boost: Ball Control

Overview

Leao enjoyed his breakout season last year, after putting in a series of impressive performances. He totaled 11 goals and 8 assists in 34 league appearances, helping AC Milan to the Scudetto. The 23-year-old has grown in popularity and is attracting interest from several top European clubs. He has a bright career ahead of him and it is exciting to see what he goes on to do.

VSA

The incredible finishing combined with the fantastic dribbling makes this card absolutely lethal for VSA. Leao feels really smooth when dribbling and has bags of pace. His shots are very powerful and accurate and whilst the 4* weak foot is not ideal, it is difficult to complain. Overall, this is a solid option to have in this mode.

FM Stats Rafael Leao
Image via Electronic Arts

H2H

Because of his deadly attacking skillset, Leao has the potential to be great for H2H. He is a very direct winger, who looks to pick up the ball and drive straight towards the goal. He’s got the movement and the strength to do this through crowds of players often without being dispossessed.

However, a big drawback to this card is its stamina. The card’s playstyle is focused around carrying the ball and this combined with the low stamina means Leao is sometimes out of breath even by halftime. It is recommended to have a good backup LW available to interchange with Leao.

Theo Hernandez (LB)

FIFARenderZ Theo Hernandez
  • Overall: 96
  • Requirement: 67000 TOTS Community Points
  • Skill Boost: Pace

Overview

Hernandez was another one of the key cogs that drive AC Milan to their first title since 2011. He registered 5 goals and 6 assists in 32 league appearances from the LB position. At just 24 years of age, Hernandez is regarded amongst the best full-backs in Europe.

VSA

Hernandez doesn’t appear often as a defender in VSA. When he does, he isn’t particularly tough to get past. You could imagine him as one of those defenders that can maybe catch you off guard, put in a good block here and there, etc. Obviously, Hernandez’s best qualities are better seen in H2H.

FM Stats Theo Hernandez FIFA Mobile 22 Serie A TOTS
Image via Electronic Arts

H2H

This card literally embodies the ideal LB for H2H. Hernandez is a fluid dribbler and has tons of pace to push forward. Crosses are generally unreliable in this season of FIFA Mobile, though Hernandez can still play some dangerous passes forward. Defensively, he is reliable too. Hernandez is strong and can time his tackles well. The 3* skill moves are the only major drawback, although even that isn’t too big of an issue at times. All in all, if you’re looking for a standard attacking LB, this is a great option.

Paulo Dybala (CF)

FIFARenderZ Paulo Dybala
  • Overall: 97
  • Requirement: 111000 TOTS Community Points
  • Skill Boost: Second Striker

Overview

With over 200 appearances across 7 seasons, Dybala‘s time at Juventus may have come to an end. The Argentine’s contract was set to expire at the end of the 2021/22 season and he is reportedly looking for a new club. In his final season, Dybala recorded 10 goals and another 5 starts in 29 league appearances. Despite not having played as much as he would have liked, owing to several injuries, Dybala still ended the campaign as one of Juventus’ best players.

VSA

As a center-forward card, it may be difficult to integrate Dybala into the team. That is likely one of the big reasons why this card is often looked over, which is fair enough. If there is a way to get this guy in position, then he has the potential to be a real asset to the team.

Dybala’s finishing is brilliant, both from close range and outside the box. He feels fluid with the ball and has a very quick turn. The only issue is the poor weak foot. A 3* rating can not be trusted and because of that, this card is a disappointment in VSA.

FM Stats Paulo Dybala FIFA Mobile 22 Serie A TOTS

H2H

Getting cards in position for H2H is quite important for the skill boost ratings, so getting this card into position would still be recommended. FIFA Mobile 22 Serie A TOTS Dybala performs better in H2H than in VSA, mainly because the weak foot can sometimes be looked over. This card has a great attacking skillset and can be really deadly in the final 3rd. Dybala can create play as well, with his efficient and incisive passing. If the CF position isn’t possible, the next best role for Dybala would be as CAM. This is where many of his best attributes can shine most.

Kalidou Koulibaly (CB)

FIFARenderZ Kalidou Koulibaly
  • Overall: 97
  • Requirement: 111000 TOTS Community Points
  • Skill Boost: Marking

Overview

Koulibaly had a strong spell with Napoli, helping them to a 3rd place finish in the Serie A last season. He made 27 starts for the Italian outlet, scoring 3 and assisting 3 for his teammates. Thanks to his defensive contributions, Napoli managed to keep an impressive 16 clean sheets in total, which only 1 other team in the league could beat. The Senegalese international is known to be a powerful and physical center-back respected highly in Europe.

VSA

Koulibaly is a solid defender for VSA that is difficult to get past for attackers. Visibly, he has a huge presence and he’s got a ton of strength to back that. Koulibaly is difficult to stun with skill moves and is great at tracking attackers. His tackles are well-timed and he jumps in to make good blocks too. All things considered, this is the ideal type of CB to have in this mode.

FM Stats Kalidou Koulibaly FIFA Mobile 22 Serie A TOTS
Image via Electronic Arts

H2H

Due to his already impressive defensive ability, Koulibaly is pretty much an instant success for H2H. He is a defensive thorn both on the ground and aerially. In addition, he also has the pace to follow attackers, and when that is combined with his strength, Koulibaly moves almost like a homing missile. Koulibaly isn’t great on the ball, so for those that like to play out from the back, partnering Koulibaly with another ball-playing CB may be a good idea.

Ciro Immobile (ST)

FIFARenderZ Ciro Immobile
  • Overall: 98
  • Requirement: 163000 TOTS Community Points
  • Skill Boost: Target Man

Overview

Immobile was this season’s Serie A Golden Boot winner, with an impressive 27 goals in just 31 starts. The Italian has been hitting high numbers for some time now and has only dropped below 20 goals once in 6 seasons with Lazio. Immobile was a key player for his team, which secured a 5th place finish in the Serie A, guaranteeing Europa League football for next year and his place in the FIFA Mobile 22 Serie A TOTS.

VSA and H2H Gameplay

FM Stats Ciro Immobile Image via Electronic Arts FIFA Mobile 22 Serie A TOTS
Image via Electronic Arts

As expected, this card’s game is all about goals. Immobile can score from anywhere inside the box, with his power shots being particularly useful. In addition, Immobile is a big aerial threat too and is reliable in duels both on the ground and in the air.

On the ball, he is slightly underwhelming though. His movement isn’t as smooth as would have hoped for a 98-rated card. He feels a bit sluggish at times and only has 3* skill moves as well. The best way to make the most of Immobile is just by constantly supplying passes and crosses. His positioning in the box is great, so it’s all a matter of getting the ball to him and pulling a shot off quickly.

Domenico Berardi (RW)

FIFARenderZ Domenico Berardi
  • Overall: 98
  • Requirement: 163000 TOTS Community Points
  • Skill Boost: Speed

Overview

Berardi had another fantastic season with the Italian outlet, Sassuolo. He hit the back of the net on 15 occasions and set up another 14 goals for his teammates. This was Berardi’s 5th time hitting double digits for goals, a symbol of his consistency over the years. The Italian international came up from Sassuolo’s youth system and has since gone on to make over 300 appearances.

VSA and H2H Gameplay

FM Stats Domenico Berardi FIFA Mobile 22 Serie A TOTS
Image via Electronic Arts

This could have been a fantastic card for both VSA and H2H however the poor weak foot is a bit of a let-down. Berardi feels incredibly agile and has plenty of pace. He’s got a deadly left foot that can finish both from inside and outside the box, with great power.

In particular, his finesse shots are especially quite satisfying. This card can create play as well as it can finish it too – Berardi has an eye for a killer pass and can whip crosses and long balls well too. However, all this is on his left foot. His right is rarely reliable and kind of brings this card down a notch. If that can be looked over though, there is a really solid card here.

Mike Maignan (GK)

FIFARenderZ Mike Maignan
  • Overall: 98
  • Requirement: 173000 TOTS Community Points
  • Skill Boost: Handling

Overview

Maignan enjoyed a sensational first season in Italy, helping AC Milan win the Scudetto with a club-record points tally. The Frenchman conceded just 21 goals in 32 appearances, keeping a league-leading total of 17 clean sheets. He made some fantastic saves over the course of the season and has emerged as one of Europe’s finest, at just 26 years old.

VSA and H2H Gameplay

FM Stats Mike Maignan FIFA Mobile 22 Serie A TOTS

Goalkeepers are an odd concept in this season of FIFA Mobile. They’re difficult to judge because of how similar they are to each other. No keeper in the game is going to save every shot and they all seemingly struggle in similar aspects.

Maignan feels a little better than other keepers because of his height and heavy build, however, he isn’t that tough to play against. What’s more important for goalkeepers is “value for overall“. Perhaps it isn’t worth playing upwards of 80-100 million coins for a goalkeeper in this season of FIFA Mobile so this card is best looked over for now.
