1. Target players from Events to save Coins
The market has been tricky to deal with this season in FIFA Mobile. An abundance of unsold and overpriced cards means it is difficult to purchase cards at their deserved value. In most cases, it’s probably better to target a card from an event rather than from the market if possible, as they will almost certainly be free. Doing this helps save coins, and can earn some other rewards in the process.
Some events may give out free and easy-to-obtain cards, and due to their high supply, it can be difficult to sell them on the market. Instead, it is a good idea to keep them on the bench or even use them as temporary placeholders if they offer an upgrade on a first-team player.
2. Identify weaknesses in your team and use the market watchlist
When looking for potential upgrades to the team, the best idea is to try and identify weaknesses. Perhaps there is a low overall card in the team compared to the others, or a player isn’t performing well enough. These are the types of cards to upgrade on first in order to get the best development. Of course, picking up a high-value attacker off the market looks very appealing, but investing lots of coins into just one area in the team weakens everything else, and this isn’t the ideal way to push for ranks in Division Rivals.
The market offers a feature that allows players to add cards on the market to their watchlist. This is a useful tool to help track the prices of all the cards you are interested in from just one menu. After identifying the weaknesses, try to shortlist a couple of potential replacements on the market before comparing them individually and coming to a conclusion.
3. Consider sticking to certain skill boosts
The cost of upgrading skill boosts gets more expensive and resource-heavy with every upgrade. As such, it might be worth just sticking to a certain set of skill boosts. For example for defenders, maybe just stick to those cards that have the Defending skill boost, ignoring those with anything else such as Tackling. Setting this rule for yourself means in the future, there will never be that hidden cost of upgrading a skill boost when adding a new card to the team. Particularly at the higher skill boost levels, upgrading to that level can run down the coin balance frighteningly quickly, so it is certainly worth anticipating this.
Of course, if a new card with great stats and value for money gets released, it would be crazy not to rebuild the team around that card. The main idea of this is to just have that skill boost cap in mind, so as to avoid unnecessary upgrades.
4. Try to balance rank upgrades, on the whole, starting XI
Similar to the previous point, it’s not always a good idea to focus upgrades on just one part of the attack. Balance is key to succeeding in division rivals which is why it is important to upgrade the whole team equally. For example, instead of pushing the striker to rank 15, instead, focus on bringing the whole team to rank 10 first, then push for rank 15 on each individual player after.
5. Consider the stats as well as overall
Overall rating is probably the most important stat to look at when choosing cards but it’s also important to consider the more detailed attributes of these cards. This gives an idea of the kind of playstyle the card features, and in some cases, whether the card is worth the overall rating as well. For example, two wingers may have the same overall rating but different playstyles, such as a shooting specialist and one with lots of pace. In this case, the choice ultimately depends on preference but being aware of these attributes helps in differentiating two players of similar overall.
Additionally, cards from recent events tend to be better than cards from older events, even with the same overall ratings. Comparing the attributes is a good way to avoid falling into this trip.
