Nevertheless, the show must go on, and we’re back with the list of the top 5 players from the upcoming FPL gameweek that can prove most beneficial to your rank. It’s looking to be a hectic day as usual, with FPL managers over the world trying to follow the events of all the matches at once. Perhaps sneaking in a few differentials can catch your league opponents off-guard!

1. Emerson Royal (Defender) – 4.9 million

As expected, Antonio Conte‘s arrival has rejuvenated the Tottenham defense completely. As for Emerson Royal, the Brazillian has improved massively under Conte picking up a total of 26 points in five matches under Conte, averaging 5.2 points per match. Given the context, he has picked only 8 points in the previous seven matches under former manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

In gameweek 19, Emerson picked up his first assist of the season in a 3-0 win against Crystal Palace. Emerson created a gameweek high total of 4 chances, matched only by his teammate Sergio Reguilon. He has amassed that with three additional clean sheets since Conte took charge.

Managing 3 clean sheets in their last five gameweeks, Tottenham faces Southampton away today followed by a home tie against Watford looking to add to their tally. Additionally, their recent postponed fixtures mean that it looks likely they’ll be getting a double gameweek sometime very soon. If you are frustrated with the Chelsea fullbacks then their London rivals Spurs might be the perfect replacement.

2. Kostas Tsimikas (Defender) – 3.7 million

Priced at only 3.7 million, the Greek Left-back of Liverpool has kept a clean sheet in all the full 90-minute appearances he has made. Now with the suspension of Andrew Robertson for two gameweeks, no doubt he would be summoned by Klopp in that position again. With all the first-team players back from COVID restrictions, it is expected that Liverpool can live up to the expectations in this fixture against the Foxes.

Leicester City currently suffers from a lot of injuries in the backline and coming from a run of bad form. Tsimikas, who has thus far collected 28 points in the 4 starts he has made in the league, can be a decent consideration for FPL managers looking to use their first Wildcard or a Free Hit before 2021 ends. Besides, the Greek has an expected assist figure xA of 1.47 and 1 assist in his four full PL appearances.

3. Jarrod Bowen (Midfielder) – 6.5 million

With Arsenal’s fixture being postponed due to a covid outbreak, Jarrod Bowen from West Ham seems to be the perfect fit to replace the likes of Saka and Smith Rowe this gameweek in the books of Fantasy Premier League managers worldwide. The Hammers play Watford away this gameweek, looking forward to bouncing back from the defeat at home against Southampton last EPL gameweek.

Bowen has already made 17 appearances for the East London club in the premier league this season, netting the ball 3 times from an xG of 4.84. He also has an assist tally of 5 so far, with an xA of 3.17. But what is more convincing about the English midfielder is his change in position noticed in the last game against Southampton, grabbing an assist at the 64th-minute mark. Also taking a look at his fixture list, Bowen seems convincing at least before the 23rd gameweek when they face Manchester United away at Old Trafford.

4. Kevin De Bruyne (Midfielder) – 11.9 million

Kevin De Bruyne‘s start to the season was hampered with injuries but it looks though he is fully back in contention. The Belgian has started the last three games and netted 3 times in that period as well. His 70-minute run-out in the last gameweek suggests he could be a starter in Gameweek 20 as well. His 13 shots in the last three gameweeks are the joint-most of all-league players, alongside Bukayo Saka.

He has also created the most chances (12) than anyone else in that period as well. De Bruyne is predicted to be the 3rd highest scoring Midfielder this gameweek, with an expected 6.6 points to look forward to. As an attacking unit, Manchester City has been ruthless having scored the most goals this season (50) and totaled the most xG as well (46.3). In the last three matches, the Citizens have averaged 5.7 goals per game and have looked unstoppable.

Combined with the fact that they’ve been unbeaten in the last 9 league games, City is the favorite to score 2.5+ goals in GW20, with a 50% chance. Whilst opponents Brentford have built a decent reputation in defense, they’ve managed just 2 wins in the last 9 fixtures. City is expected to win comfortably here, and De Bruyne could easily notch a few goals and assists in this one.

5. Michail Antonio (Forward) – 7.7 million

Antonio finally ended his long goal drought on Boxing Day after scoring for the first time since gameweek 9 as West Ham stumbled upon a loss against Southampton. The Jamaican forward can finally expect his good days to return against Watford this gameweek.

Despite Antonio’s recent lack of returns, his numbers speak for themselves as his influence on West Ham’s attack. His 9 shots and 7 chances created both put him among West Ham’s top two players over their last six matches. Additionally, West Ham’s gameweek 20 opponent Watford is the only side in the league yet to keep a clean sheet this season.

West Ham faces Watford, Crystal Palace, and Leeds next, all three favorable fixtures for Antonio to continue his goal streak. With Arsenal blanking this week, Antonio might be the only like-for-like replacement for Lacazette within the price range if you can’t afford the likes of Kane and Ronaldo within your budget.
