Fungus Mechanicus is the next upcoming mini-event in Version 4.2 of Genshin Impact. During the event, players need to capture and direct their Lil’ Fungi to defeat Mechanici and obtain rewards such as primogems, mora, hero’s wit, Mystic Enhancement Ores, etc. The event is available from the 6th of December, 2023 to the 18th of December, 2023.
The lore of the event is, “In a Corner of Port Ormos. You and Paimon encounter friends whom you made during the inaugural Nilotpala Cup Beast Tamers Tournament. They are currently preparing for the next tournament, and to that effect have come up with a new game with which to advertise for Beast Tamers Tournament.”
How to participate and complete the Fungus Mechanicus Event in Genshin Impact
Players must meet the following criteria to participate in the event:
- Adventure rank 30 or above
- Completion of Archon quest “A new Star Approaches” which cannot be skipped.
- Completion of Archon quest “Akasha Pulses and the Kalpa Flames Rises”. If you have not completed the above-mentioned quests, you can enter the event through “Quick Start” on the event page.
Genshin Impact Fungus Mechanicus Event: Gameplay Tips
In this gameplay, mode players are in control of the 4 Fungi to defeat all the Mechanici. Each of the Fungi has its own set of unique abilities that players may use in battles.
During the Fungus Mechanicus event, beast tamers must direct their Lil’ Fungi to defeat all the Mechanici. Your Lil’ Fungi will automatically choose the nearest Mechanicus and attack it. You can use the white indicator lines to track the current target each Lil’ Fungus has selected. At the same time, the opposing Mechanici will each target the Lil’ Fungus closest to it, an intention that can be seen via red indicator lines.
- Click on the avatars of the Lil’ Fungi, use the number keys, or directly click on the Lil’ Fungi on the field to switch between Fungi and your control.
- Click any spot on the field or an opposing Mechanicus to direct your Lil’ Fungus to move to that spot, or to start attacking that Mechanicus.
- Choosing Lil Fungi strategically to trigger more Elemental Reactions can make battles much more efficient.
- Use Marvelous Gels to instruct the Lil’ Fungi to unleash powerful skills. You will regain Marvelous Gels over time. Additionally, you can use Plauditory Protections on the field to obtain additional Marvelous Gels.
- Certain skills of Lil Fungi must have a target selected before they can be used.

Completing the event will reward players with:
- Primogems
- Mora
- Artifact upgrade material
- Weapon-up materials
- Mystic Enhancement ore
