The Secret of Al-Ahmar world quest is the third part of Golden Slumber World Questline, after completing The Introduction To Indoor Archeology in version 3.1 update of Genshin Impact. Find out how to start The Secret of Al-Ahmar World Quest, as well as how to explore and obtain the rewards.
How to unlock and start The Secret of Al-Ahmar World Quest in Genshin Impact
To unlock this World Quest, players must first visit Aaru Village in the Sumeru desert and accept the Golden Slumber questline. They must finish the following quests:
- Lost in the Sands World Quest
- The Introduction To Indoor Archeology Quest

King Deshret’s Mausoleum
From the room where “Introduction To Indoor Archeology” ended, move to the next room and ride the elevator. It will trigger a cutscene. After the cutscene ends, move toward King Deshret’s Mausoleum. Approach the main door and a cutscene will be triggered. The door will be opened.
Enter the room and defeat the Primal Constructs. Continue moving forward and find a big room with lots of gold coins. Unfortunately, you cannot collect them. You will be asked to open the coffin by unlocking four mechanisms.
Opening the Coffin (1/4)
The four mechanisms can be unlocked in any order. But we are entering the room on the right first. This is the room that is to the right when you first enter the big room. While entering this room, you will see on the mini-map that you are moving northwards. Continue down the hall and find a room with a mechanism in the middle emitting orange circles. They will damage you, so dodge them by jumping.
Turn right, open the door and enter the room. Midway down the hall, there will be a space to the right. There is a Dendroculus. Look up and there will be a four-leaf clover. Using it will lead you to a Primal Sconce. Release it and follow it till it joins with a Primal Torch.
Opening the Coffin (2/4)
Once the Primal Torch is lit, return to the room with the orange circle emitting mechanism. This time turn left and enter the next hallway. Continue down the hall and find a hole that leads to the room below. You will see another hall to the left. Climb while avoiding falling and enter that hall.
Continue down the hall to find a room with a seelie and a square mechanism on the floor. Pass the door next to the mechanism. Turn left, look up, and use the four-leaf clover. This will lead you to another Primal Sconce. Release the Primal Ember and follow it till it joins with a Primal Torch.
Opening the Coffin (3/4)
Now, from the big room, enter the room on the left. Continue down the hall and find a room to your left with a chest guarded by a Primal Construct.
Enter the room, turn left, and use the four-leaf clover to reach another Primal Sconce. Release the Primal Ember and follow it till it joins with a Primal Torch.
Opening the Coffin (4/4)
From the big room, enter the room on the left. This time, continue beyond the room on the left and turn right. Continue down the hallway until you find a door that leads to a room to the right.
Enter the room and find a fan creating a wind current in the corner. Ride the current up and it will lead you to a Primal Sconce. Release the Primal Ember and follow it till it joins with a Primal Torch.
To the Mausoleum’s top Floor
Once the coffin is opened, it will bring down an elevator. Ride it and move to the upper floor. This will bring you to a room with two sides leading to two areas. From the elevator room, move to the right and take the stairs. You will enter a big room, approach the marker and a cutscene will trigger. This will increase your clearance level by one. A door will be opened and you will enter the room.
From the room, open the door. This will lead to an open area outside the Mausoleum but still underground. Glide down, defeat the Fatui and keep following the marker to reach Benben’s location. This will lead you to a room with three doors and water on the floor. Only one of the doors can be opened at the moment, open it and continue following the marker.
While following the marker, you will encounter big holes in the ground. Avoid falling. Use the four-leaf clovers to get to the other side of the hole. The marker will lead you to a hidden teleport waypoint. A cutscene will be triggered. Glide down, wait for the cutscene to finish, and defeat Samail. This time you will get two markers. Keep moving forward to reach Opet Hall.
Deeper within the Ruins
Open the door, enter and climb the stairs. You will enter a room. Turn right and climb the stairs. Look for an open door to the right. Enter, turn left and move to the next room. In the middle is a locked chest. There are Primal Beams and Receivers in the room. If you rotate the cell to connect two beams to the receivers facing the same side, you can unlock a door. There are two doors on both sides of the room. Both contain a Primal Construct but only the one on the right is important.
Unlock the door on the right and enter. Defeat the Primal Construct. Pick up the blue triangle and stand on the square mechanism on the floor. This will reveal a Primal Sconce. Release the Primal Ember and follow it. If it rests at a Sconce, just release it.
The Ember will open a door to a room with more receivers. Remember this location since you will have to return here soon. Continue following the Ember till it joins with a Primal Torch. Now return to the room with multiple receivers. Two connected receivers are guarding a Primal Sconce. Interact with the one that isn’t right next to the Sconce.
It will open a door and reveal a square mechanism on the floor. Collect the blue triangle near the Sconce and stand on the mechanism. Interact with the cell that moved in the previous step. The Sconce will be unlocked. Release the Primal Ember and follow it till it joins with a Primal Torch. A door will be opened. Follow the marker and enter the room. A cutscene will play which will increase your clearance level by one.
Genshin Impact The Secret of Al-Ahmar World Quest Completion Rewards
With this, “The Secret of Al-Ahmar” comes to an end. You will get 60 primogems as a reward. The achievement of “The Amazing Pyramid” will also be unlocked.
This is only the third part of the Golden Slumber quest chain. The fourth and last part, “Dreams Beneath the Searing Sand” will be added to your quest list immediately upon finishing “The Secret of Al-Ahmar.”
