Genshin Impact Moonlight Merriment event: Claim free Primogems(1100+), 4 Star Claymore, and more

Join Keqing and Xiangling to prepare for the Moonchase festival at Liyue Harbor

Every patch of Genshin Impact is full of in-game and web events that keep the players engaged. For patch 2.1, Moonlight Merriment is one of the most anticipated events. The event takes place in Liyue Harbor, where the traveler joins Keqing and Xiangling to prepare for the Moonchase festival. In this guide, we will explain the eligibility to take part in the Moonlight Merriment event in Genshin Impact and how to complete the various quests to get the rewards.

Moonlight Merriment: Event details

Eligibility

To take part in this event, travelers need to be Adventure Rank 28 or above and should have completed the Archon Quest Chapter I: Act III – A New Star Approaches and Trulla Chapter: Act I – Mondstadt Gastronomy Trip

Event Duration

The event will go on from September 27 10:00 to 11 October 2021 03:59 (Server Time)

Moonlight Merriment: Part II commences on 1st October 2021 04:00:00 Server Time

Moonlight Merriment is divided into three parts: Moonchase Tales, Moonlight Seeker, and Trail of Delicacies. To gain access to the subsequent parts, players need to finish the quests previous in line. 

Moonlight Merriment event: Rewards

On completing the event, the players will get the following items, among other things-

  • Primogems
  • Mora
  • Crown of Insight
  • 4 Star Claymore Luxurious Sealord
  • Emperor’s Balsam (refinement materials for Luxurious Sea Lord)
  • Mystic Enhancement Ore
  • Weapon Ascension materials, and more.

Luxurious Sea Lord

Luxurious Sea Lord acts as a great weapon for sub-DPS characters as it has a high atk% secondary stat and also its passive provides insane value at refinement level 5. The low-base attack makes it a mediocre option for main DPS. Sayu, Beidou and Chongyun playing the burst support/sub-DPS role can make good use of this weapon.

Apart from the aforementioned rewards, players can also get a total of 4500 Battle Pass EXP on completing specific missions in the event as indicated by the image below.

How to complete the Moonlight Merriment event

The following section details the 3 parts of this event as mentioned above, and how to complete them.

1. Moonchase Tales 

This quest chain consists of two parts: Chef Supremacy and Cuisine Machine Test Run. As soon as the event starts, players have access to Moonlight Merriment: Part I which gives players the opportunity to take part in Cusine Machine Test Run. Participating in Cuisine Machine Test Run requires the players to complete Moonlight Merriment: Part I. Primogems, Hero’s Wit, and 4 new recipes are the major rewards available in this stage of the event.

Note: Cuisine Machine Test Run quest cannot be initiated in Co-Op Mode.

2. Moonlight Seeker

Unlock Criteria: Complete Moonlight Merriment: Part I and The Many Matters of the Moonchase Festival 

During the event, when any of the gameplay stages Path of Stalwart Stone, Path of Gentle Breezes, or Path of Austere Frost is available, exploration for the corresponding area in “Moonlight Seeker” will be unlocked simultaneously.

  • Travellers need to go to Liyue Harbor and talk with Linyang every day. She will demarcate locations on the map that have Moonchase Charms and Mystmoon Chests. Collect Moonchase Charms and Mystmoon Chests in the designated area to advance the collection progress of the area. Both will be available at different locations, and therefore will be marked with different icons on the mini-map.
  • Opening Mystmoon chest also offers Primogems and other rewards similar to opening chest while exploring the world.
  • On reaching certain levels of collection progress in designated areas players will get rewards. Primogems, Luxurious Sea Lord and its refinement material are the major rewards available in this stage of the event.
  • Festive Fever is another reward that is available in this event which is used to raise the festive level bar to unlock Moonlight Merriment Part II.

3. Trail of Delicacies

  • During the event, when any of the gameplay stages is available, challenge locations where enemy camps are built are marked on the map. Defeat the enemies to claim the corresponding rewards. Crown of Insight, Primogems and Luxurious Sea Lord refinement material are the major rewards available in this stage of the event. Festive Fever is also rewarded, which helps in unlocking Moonlight Merriment Part II.
  • Before starting the challenge players can offer up delicacies in the “Trail of Delicacies” interface in return for buffs which will make the battle easier.
  • Every enemy camp has a camp leader who possesses the special ability to restore a huge amount of its health 10 seconds after its health falls below 30% therefore as soon as you get the leader low try to kill it under ten seconds. This effect can happen only once per challenge.

At the end of the challenge, wind currents will appear which take you to the location of the next challenge in a short amount of time.
