Buffer / Support Build
Shenhe’s kit is very much focused on providing buffs to other Cryo Main DPS characters. Her support abilities scale with ATK%. So, for full support build she will need a hybrid build of 2pc Gladiator’s Finale + 2pc Shimenawa’s Reminiscence. For this build, players will need to build a bit of Crit Rate, if they are planning to use Favonius Lance, for it’s passive to proc.
Weapons aside from Favonius Lance don’t have any crit threshold criteria. Therefore, it will need less investment in it. The energy recharge threshold is important here. This should be the first focus and then all the investment should go for the increasing total attack.

Artifact Stats Priority
As always, Min maxing is of the utmost importance for any character build, however, for the support build, it is not that necessary. Farm for flower and plume with high ATk% substats, like other artifacts will have main stats of ATK%. Therefore, ATk% percent won’t show up in substats. One must focus on ER% and CR/CD%.

Sub DPS/ Main DPS Build
Shenhe’s Kit is not very oriented for the main DPS build. However, Blizzard Strayer can reduce the farm for Crit Stats and allow more focus on ATK% and ER%. Since she will always be paired with another Cryo unit for either battery or Cryo Main DPS like Ganyu and Ayaka. Therefore, the set effect is much easier to activate. Moreover, Cryo DPS favors permafreeze teams, where the artifact fits right in.

Shenhe’s main DPS build follows the standard DPS build for other characters, with ATK% Sands, Elemental DMG Goblet and Circlet of either Crit rate or Crit damage, depending on the needs. Things can be mixed up by using ATK% Goblet instead of Elemental DMG one, the difference shouldn’t be a lot.
ER% requirement for Shenhe
She will need at least 150 ER%, along with another Cryo battery for her burst uptime, as she doesn’t generate a lot of energy particles. The requirement can vary between 150-180 ER% depending on teams and weapons. Her burst costs 80 energy, with a downtime of 8 seconds. Weapons like Engulfing Lighting, Favonius Lance, and Skyward Spine will leave some leeway for ER% requirements.
Best Weapons for Shenhe in Genshin Impact
Among the five stars weapons, Calamity Queller is her absolute signature weapon, built to suit her entirely. Other than the signature weapon, Engulfing Lightning and Skyward Spine are also very competitive, with ER% substat. Any weapon with a high base attack will be good for her and supporting passives the cherry on top. The four-star weapons that should be good for her are Favonius Lance and Wavebreaker’s Fin. Other weapons will work too, but these are better suited for her. Wavebreaker’s Fin has a base attack of 620 at level 90, which is very beneficial to her. Skyward Spine

Weapon Passive: Blackwing
It increases CRIT Rate by 8% and increases Normal ATK SPD by 12%. Additionally, Normal and Charged Attacks hits on opponents have a 50% chance to trigger a vacuum blade that deals 40% of ATK as DMG in a small AoE. This effect can occur no more than once every 2s.
Favonius Lance
- Base ATK- 565 (Level – 90)

Weapon Passive: Windfall
CRIT hits have a 60% chance to generate a small number of Elemental Particles, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character. It can only occur once every 12s.
Wavebreaker’s Fin

Weapon Passive: Watatsumi Wavewalker
For every point of the entire party’s combined maximum Energy capacity, the Elemental Burst DMG of the character equipping this weapon is increased by 0.12%. A maximum of 40% increased Elemental Burst DMG can be achieved this way.

Best Characters to Pair with Shenhe
Shenhe’s kit becomes more powerful, as the number of Cryo units in the team increases. Specifically, it depends on Cryo damage done by other characters. Therefore, Cryo characters and Anemo Swirl of Cryo are the only things that will work. Cryo swirl is quite inconsistent if different elemental types of enemies are present in the field. So she will work best when paired with main DPS characters like Ganyu and Ayaka. Her buffs provide a huge boost to Cryo DMG, overlapped by the active characters, crit ratios, and elemental mastery.
