Carryover players in PES 2021
With the PES 2021 Mobile season update, all Base Players and Featured Players that a player owned in PES 2020 will automatically be converted to Carryover Players in PES 2021. The similar case happened previosuly during the update to PES 2020 from PES 2019, Base and Featured players were converted to Carryovers. If you still have any Carryover Player from the PES 2020 update, even they will be Carryover Players after the PES 2021 Mobile update.
The appearance, position, skills, tactics and other player data of Carryover Players will be adjusted to be identical to that of their Base Player counterparts in PES 2021. However, if you are new to this, we’ll tell you exactly how Carryover Players differ from other players:
- Carryover Players have a grey tint in their card art for distinguishing them, just like bright blue for Base Players and golden for Legend players.
- You’ll earn more GP by releasing Carryover Players than other types of players with similar overall ratings. This is the only advantage of Carryover players over other players. Use those GPs to pack new Base Players!
- Among the disadvantages, Carryover Players will have their Condition Rating fixed to “C” throughout the game, and will not be impacted by Live Updates i.e. their real-life performance or form.
- Carryover Players cannot be used in certain online events. Even if they can be, they’ll receive a lower bonus than other player types in certain online events. For example, if you play in Matchday with Juventus, using a Carryover Juve player will give you 200% bonus whereas Base players & Featured players will give 400 & 800% bonus respectively.
For any player you obtained in PES 2020, they can be affected based on whether they are available or not at the PES 2021 Mobile launch. Let’s discuss both scenarios for Base, Featured, Legends & Iconic Moments players you obtained in PES 2020.
Base and Featured Players
If a Base or Featured Player you obtained in PES 2020 is available in PES 2021 at launch, he will be automatically converted into a Carryover Player with the season update. Your players’ data i.e. appearance, positions, abilities, skills, tactics, etc. may be updated, and their Overall Ratings may also change according to the PES database player data in September 2020.
If a Base or Featured Player you obtained in PES 2020 is not available in PES 2021 at launch, he will be exchanged for a random Base Player of the same rarity (ball colour) and registered position. That means it depends completely on your luck which player you’ll receive through a player exchange. If any player for the same ball colour and position is not available at PES 2021 launch, you’ll receive a player of the same ball colour instead. However, this case is extremely rare.
Note: Any Carryover Player remaining in your squad from the PES 2019 to PES 2020 update will be treated exactly the same as any Base or Featured Player you obtained in PES 2020.
Legend and Iconic Moments players
Any Legend or Iconic Moments Player you owned in PES 2020 that are available in PES 2021 at launch will remain as Legend or Iconic Moments Player respectively after the update. That means they’ll remain almost unchanged even after the update. However, player data i.e. the appearance, positions, attributes, skills, tactics, Overall Rating and other data of all Legends are subject to change based on the PES Database player data in September 2020. Additionally, the strips, team emblems and names of some Legends may also be updated, although the chances are slim.
Legend and Iconic Moments Players you owned in PES 2020 that are not included in PES 2021 at launch will be exchanged for a random Legend or Iconic Moments Player respectively, of the same rarity (ball colour) and registered position. If any Legend or Iconic Moments player of the same rarity (ball colour) & position is not available at PES 2021 launch, then you’ll get a player of the same ball colour instead. Konami already confirmed that some AC Milan & Inter Milan Legends & Iconic Moments players will be removed from the game after the license agreement expired between the company and the clubs. Which player you get as a replacement for those removed Legends or Iconic Moments players will completely depend on your luck again!
Player level changes with PES Mobile 2021 Update
Let’s now discuss how the level of a player is subject to change with the PES 2021 update.
Players that you obtained in PES 2020 who are available in PES 2021 at launch will retain the level they had before the season update goes live.
If a player was trained to a certain level before the update, which is higher than the max level of that player in PES 2021, the player’s level will be set to his max level in PES 2021. (Max levels differ from player to player)
To avoid confusion and taking chances, we’d suggest you pre-train your players to their max. level to make sure they remain at their respective highest levels even after the PES 2021 update.
As it happened during the PES 2020 update, players from PES 2020 who are not available in PES 2021 at launch will be exchanged for a random player of the similar type, rarity and position, and players received through this exchange mechanic will be automatically set to their max level. That means even players who were not at all trained will be exchanged for a pre-trained player if they are removed in PES 2021.
Manager changes with PES Mobile 2021 Update
If a Manager you obtained in PES 2020 is included in PES 2021 when you first log-in after the update, their Manager data i.e. Photo, Formation, Adaptability, Management Skill and Offensive and Defensive Tactics will be updated to match the start of the 2020-21 season. Some Managers might have their name changed and photo removed, such as the AC Milan & Inter Milan managers.
If you owned multiple copies of the same Manager in PES 2020, only one of them will be updated to the latest Manager data of that particular manager. Each duplicate copy of the Manager that you did not choose can be exchanged for a Manager of your choice from among those available when you first log-in to the game after the PES 2021 season update.
If a Manager you obtained in PES 2020 is not included in PES 2021 when you first log-in after the update, you’ll be able to choose a new Manager from those featured in PES 2021 at that time. So unlike the player exchange mechanic, the manager exchange mechanic isn’t random and luck-dependent.
If you used any Management Skill Boost on any Manager in PES 2020, that effect will be nullified with the PES 2021 update.
Other Item changes with PES 2021 Update
Player Item effects
If you used any Contract Ticket/ Skill Boost on any player in PES 2020, that effect will be nullified with the PES 2021 season update. However, any items remaining in your squad or inbox will remain as it is.
Any Special Trainers that you owned in PES 2020 will also carry over to PES 2021. Any items remaining in your inbox will also carryover to PES 2021.
If a player you converted into a Trainer is included in PES 2021 at launch, you can use him as is.
However, if a player you converted into a Trainer is not included in PES 2021 at launch, he will be exchanged for a ★3 Special Trainer with no expiry date, which will be sent to your Inbox after the update.
Scouts you obtained in PES 2020 will carry over to PES 2021 and can be used as is.
However, if any of your Scouts have no available players when you log in to PES 2021 for the first time, they will be exchanged for another Scout with the same negotiation skill (★ – ★ ★ ★ ★ ★) and no expiry date.
GP & MyClub coins
All GP & MyClub coins you obtained in PES 2020 will carryover to PES 2021 as is.
