- Evernight is a niche pull if you already have Castorice and/or Hyacine
- The Herta is not recommended to pull as the meta shifted drastically against her
Honkai: Star Rail is introducing the Phase 1 banner, featuring Evernight and The Herta in Version 3.6. Once again, HoYoverse released a duo banner featuring one newly released character and one re-run character.
We will assess each character’s strengths and qualities in the future meta of the game and advise on who you should prefer to pull from the 2 playable characters. Phase 1 Banners have gone live on the 24th of September, 2025, after the update maintenance is complete, and will last till the 16th of October, 2025.
Who should you pull for in HSR version 3.6 Phase 1
Honkai: Star Rail Phase 1 banner features Evernight and The Herta in Version 3.6; it’s hard to decide who to pull. It depends on your team’s needs and your priorities for future content. Each character brings unique strengths to the table, but some offer more immediate and long-term value than others. Here’s a breakdown to help you decide.
1. Evernight
Evernight is a 5-Star Ice Remembrance unit whose kit revolves around summoning and sacrificing her memosprite, Evey, to build up and unleash devastating Memoria-fueled attacks. She provides unique teamwide buffs, including massive CRIT DMG to all memosprites and a 30% vulnerability debuff during her Darkest Riddle state, letting her amplify both her own damage and that of her allies.

The catch is that Evernight’s value is heavily tied to memosprite-focused teammates, with her strongest synergies being Castorice and Hyacine. Castorice thrives off her constant HP draining, while Hyacine’s healing and Newbud charging explode in value alongside Evernight’s kit.
Without these partners, her niche buffs lose impact, making her less flexible than some other units, but within her ideal team, she becomes an irreplaceable powerhouse.
2. The Herta
The Herta is a 5-Star Ice Erudition unit released as a dedicated AoE DPS whose kit revolves around follow-up attacks triggered when enemies drop below certain HP thresholds.
On paper, she was meant to anchor teams built around consistent AoE damage, supported by sub-DPS units like Anaxa, who was designed to amplify her performance. However, after her release, the meta shifted heavily toward stronger single-target and hypercarry DPS units, making her niche AoE focus far less valuable.

Even Anaxa, her supposed dedicated sub-dps, ended up performing so well on his own that he surpasses her entirely, thriving as a hypercarry instead of slotting into her comps. As a result, the Herta quickly fell behind in relevance, and unless future content re-centers the game around AoE, it’s best to avoid pulling on her banner.
